Go somewhere else and do not trust any of the 5-Star reviews. Trust the critical ones on Google and Yelp.
I just had a 1500 graft procedure done @ Baumann Medical. I came here because they are 'the best' according to some of the staff members, mainly Melanie who I liked.
I feel Dr. Baumann comes across as professorial, though I am not sold on the methods of hair preservation. I would prefer to attend some of Dr. Baumann's conferences to hear a consensus as to what works, and at the best price! Dr. Baumann, I would be happy for an invite!
During my procedure:
I came in the morning around 7:30am.
Dr. Baumann draws a line where the grafts will be inserted and a line from which they will be extracted (through FUE). He makes the incisions the technicians will be inserting the grafts.
The extraction procedure is done entirely by 'technicians.' Felipe was great and conversational. Some of the other technicians say little or nothing (not a great bedside manner, I expect more from the best).
During the insertion of the grafts a women on my right was laughing hysterically and very loud during the playing of 'Coming to America' movie. So loud and shaking over and over again that I asked if she was okay!? - Not professional at all...it made me question whether she was high or drunk. The doctor became offended and dismissed my claims a couple weeks later. He initially (Bauman) stated that he had a video of every procedure and he would review it, but later backtracked and said it likely no longer existed anymore (2 weeks later). I encouraged him to watch the video to see what I was talking about!
I have had hair procedures before (FUT) 12 years ago in a small city, and this doc and his staff was MUCH more professional and he performed the entire surgery!
When I came in the next day after the surgery, Christina was trying to explain to me how to care for the donor site and grafts but some of the other staff (Briana and a friend) were talking and laughing so loud, we were both distracted and could not concentrate! Briana blamed Christina for not talking loud enough. What a disaster.
When I cam for my 2 week checkup, my chart was lost for a half hour and I had to text Bauman in Italy to get staff to come to the front desk to check me in. Again, a total disaster, what I am paying for?
From my understanding, and I have done my research, Bauman is a trend follower. He follows trends in treatment before they have had anything but minimum preliminary support in research. One example is PRP (platlet-rich plasma) therapy. There is very little medical evidence to support PRP works and much anecdotal evidence (check the bald truth forums) and academic articles against the procedure (Cindy Gasnier, 2015). Being a alternative doctor is 90% self-promotion, 10% actual skill and professional courtesy to be successful. See Dr. Bauman for evidence. Also some of the techs that work for him belong at a discount clinic, not a clinic that charges $10 per FUE graft.
On the actual procedure, I am hopeful but skeptical for good results.
FYI, Dr. Bauman is supposed to extract the grafts from my understanding (as a doctor of medicine). Future patients, make sure he does this. He did not do this with me...

This guy is a typical butcher who hides behind his staff and his exceptional PR. He's all over YouTube and has segments on every news station, which sadly leads many to believe he is a reputable doc in a business where they are few and far between.
I was a 20 year old Norwood 3 or 4, and being so young I was bothered and very insecure about it. I spent 10k on 2500 grafts hoping that I could finally live a normal life as any young man should be able to. I have fine hair and even if I had $50,000 to blow on more transplants I'm simply not a candidate as I would never have had enough donor hair.
The results of the transplant were decent but not great. The transplanted hair was placed to make it look natural but to this day the HT hairs still stick straight up, thus making it look unnatural. As a 20 year old basically child I simply was not a good candidate for a HT, yet Dr. Bauman assured me that I was and was more than happy to take my $10,000 from me.
So here I am several years older, with the exception of the HT hair most of my hair is gone and I have to live with this big "smiley face" scar on the back of my head for the rest of my life.
Don't do it, do some research online there are reputable doctors out there unlike this scum bag. I have zero respect for this man and his office. One of his clueless employees said to me "We are talking about the best HT surgeon in the world here, or at least the country", when referring to Bauman, best in the county perhaps, or maybe Boca.
Slimy, greedy, grease ball is what this man is. They even charge you $100 for the consult, which they then place towards the procedure if you decide to have it. That should of been the only red flag I needed, but preying off of one's insecurities is exactly what this business does. Also thought it was grimy how when they take your before pictures he wet and combed my hair, yet the after pictures are taken when the hair is dry! Scum of the earth these people.
You may be happy initially, but unless you have boatloads of cash for when you eventually lose the rest, stay away at all costs.
One more thing. Why do you think this guys is all over CNN, youtube, you name it news station? Because he has to. Reputable doctors do not have to advertise the way that Bauman does because their work speaks for themselves and they still have waiting lists that span for several months. Bauman does it because he needs to.
