I ordered the gumbo, which had good flavor but was extremely salty. The side of rice was disappointing — it was hard, dry, and not fresh, almost like a solid chunk that couldn’t be broken with a spoon or fork. My wife’s dish was also very salty, and the portion sizes were quite small, even for her, and she’s usually a light eater.
The waiter did offer to bring fresh rice, but by the time she came back, I had already finished the gumbo and left the rice aside. I didn’t come looking for a discount — just wanted to enjoy a good meal — but I was surprised that nothing was offered to make up for the issues. In most restaurants, they would at least replace the dish or offer a small discount, but that didn’t happen here.
On a positive note, our waiter was excellent: very friendly and attentive throughout our visit.
Me and my family a t e not from the area and are from out of state. This has to be one of the best restraunts out there with the best hospitality in L.A. so far and thank you for serving us justin your the goat!!!

My family and I stopped here on the way back from visiting family in New Orleans. The food was great I recommend the crawfish quesadillas. The staff was extremely nice and accommodating.
The restaurant itself would get 4 stars. It's the handling of a situation that warrants the 3-star rating. We had reservations for about a week for a large-ish party for a family milestone birthday. When we arrived, we were told our tables weren't ready yet because one customer from a previous group was "watching the game." It was fine, as we had party items to bring in, the gifts, etc, and all of our group weren't there yet. But as our party did arrive and we filled up the waiting area, we were told the other customer was still watching the game and didn't want to leave and they "couldn't" explain to him that there was a RESERVATION waiting for that area. They wouldn't offer to move him to another table. The manager refused to ask the man to be reseated or wrap it up. There are plenty of polite ways to deal with this that do not include making a party of 12 who had reservations, and which includes senior citizens, to wait for someone to feel like going home. This is a "nice" restaurant, not a sports bar. We were seated about 20 minutes late, which is probably about how long it would've taken without a reservation.
We ended up being seated in a different section, right in the middle of the area between the kitchen and the bar. There were some loud rowdy people at the bar. It would have been much nicer if we had been seated in one of the more secluded areas that are partitioned off.
Once we were seated, though, the experience was much more enjoyable. Our waitress was personable and capable. But she wasn't overly attentive regarding checking if we needed refills or anything during the meal. The food was on the good side of average.
Notably for a large party, there weren't any food snafus. And the birthday guest had a wonderful time, which is really the most important thing.
