I recently hosted a private event here, and it was truly an incredible experience from start to finish. The food was absolutely delicious- every dish was perfectly prepared, but my personal favorites were the kashk-e bademjan, the kabob koobideh, and the bastani sonati. Their kabob was especially outstanding with perfectly balanced spices.
The staff went above and beyond to make us feel welcomed and celebrated. They were attentive, kind, and made the whole process so easy, from planning the event to the very last course. We genuinely felt at home, surrounded by warmth and hospitality.
The restaurant itself is beautiful, with an inviting atmosphere that’s perfect for dinners and special gatherings. I couldn’t recommend Divan Restaurant more!

I recently visited this restaurant for a friend’s birthday, and unfortunately, our experience was quite disappointing. While the food was decent, the hospitality was lacking significantly. The greeter was not welcoming at all, and the server was sarcastic and unprofessional, even going as far as dropping items and charging us for tab water without prior notice. The overall atmosphere felt uninviting, and the service did not match the price point. I won’t be returning.

I’ve been to Divan twice for dinner. The atmosphere is quite nice, though it tends to get a bit too loud. On both occasions, the service felt rushed. We were still eating our appetizers when the entrées arrived, leaving little room on the table. It would be much better if the staff waited until appetizers are finished and cleared before bringing out the main course. This would make the dining experience feel less hurried and more enjoyable. And allow for the main course to be more fresh to eat. Despite the rush, our drinks order came surprisingly rather late, almost towards the end if the appetizers rounds.
If I could give 10 stars, I would gladly do so.
Having never had traditional Persian cuisine, I decided to go for it at Divan.
I was hosting a big family reunion and needed a a place that was convenient for those driving and flying in.
Not too long after I filled out the online form, I was connected with Karen Wilkinson who is the Event Director of the restaurant few months prior to the event.
She made everything easy and was on top of it all even in the hours leading up to the party.
Couple days before the event, my spouse and I drove to Mclean to talk to Karen and Mr. Shah about the seating arrangements.
After the meeting was finished, my spouse and I decide to have a little break in the day and have some Mazzeh and drinks.
We were seated al fresco right by the sliding doors on a beautiful sunny afternoon.
We shared the Salade Mediterranean, the Lamb Skewers, and the juicy, flavorful, Shrimp Divan with a hint of spice. This appetizer we highly recommend for those who love sea food! I ordered The Rayhoon and Gojeh cocktail which was absolutely delicious.
For the party itself, we chose Mazzehs, main courses, and desserts from the huge tantalizing menu.
A must try is the Persian Chai/Chiya/tea!
I would like to finish this review by thanking every single person at Divan who had a hand in us having one of the best experiences in our lives.
Weeks later, our guests are still in awe. Your attention to the dietary restrictions of the guests is highly appreciated!!!
Bravo and much success to everyone!!
Karen, Ahga Shah, Turkish Pasha, Siroos Ahga and everyone else whose names we didn't get but you are in our hearts.

I highly recommend DIVAN. We always went to our favorite restaurant Alborz, but after tonight, DIVAN is our new favorite. The owner, Mr. Cyrus, was super welcoming and greeted us as soon as we walked in with my family. He even seated us where we wanted. The waiter bailn was really nice and checked on us every 10 minutes. The food was amazing—I loved the kabob and appetizers. It’s a great place with excellent service. I’ll definitely be going there often and recommending it to friends and family. Also, it was so kind of Cyrus to celebrate my mom’s birthday by bringing a mini candle and cake and singing for her. By the way, he speaks great Farsi, which made me proud to see a successful Persian owner running a great business.
