An Absolutely Amazing 10th Birthday Party Experience at Dave & Buster’s Braintree!
We recently celebrated our son's 10th birthday at Dave & Buster’s Braintree in their VIP Party Room, and it couldn’t have gone any better! From start to finish, the entire team went above and beyond to make it a day to remember.
A huge thank-you to Josh, the Sales & Events Manager, who helped us plan every detail and made sure everything was perfectly arranged ahead of time. His professionalism and clear communication made the process so easy and stress-free.
During the party, John, our Party Manager, did an incredible job managing the setup and flow of the event. The room looked fantastic, the pizza, chicken strips, french fries, and soft drinks were all delicious, and the kids absolutely loved it! John handed out the game cards with clear instructions and even took care of cutting and serving the cake, such a thoughtful touch that let us relax and enjoy the moment.
Our server Sarah deserves special recognition for her friendly attitude and top-notch service. She was always right there whenever we needed anything, refilling drinks, bringing out food, or helping with any little detail.
The kids had an absolute blast in the arcade, the parents had a great time celebrating, and Christian said it was his best birthday ever!
We highly recommend Dave & Buster’s Braintree to any parent looking to host a fun, well-organized, and memorable birthday celebration. The VIP room experience and incredible staff made it a total smash hit!

This isn't a review on the food or from a customer, but from an employee.
Coworkers are mostly rude and openly discussed heavy drug usage without care. There was constant drama. Someone was always beefing, and someone was always talking badly about another.
The management is ABYSMAL. The favoritism is off the charts. I had days where I would roll 75 rollups (as required for closing), and others would leave without doing a single one, with management’s knowledge. I even had a day where I was forced to roll 150 silverware as we were hit hard during a weekend and had no rollups, and a manager genuinely told someone to leave without doing any directly in front of my face. This was the most apparent with the women who worked there. If you were a woman who was working with a male manager, you practically hit the jackpot. Most got to leave without doing their closing roll-ups. They usually were not put on close and would actually get to pick their closing side work, unlike the remaining few who would be given whatever was left. They also get their food completely free if they ask, while others are required to pay 50%. The management was also completely unhelpful, and were straight up rude whenever you would ask for assistance. The GM and kitchen manager often disappeared together for long stretches, sometimes over an hour, leaving no management presence on the floor when we needed help, and when they finally returned, their hair was all messed up, and they were sweaty. Other managers will stay on expo and refuse to come out onto the floor when help is needed. And if they see you falling behind, they will yell at you to get things done when they clearly see you doing something else. I’ve been told to clean another server’s tables as I was cleaning my own, because “we’re a family”. If issues arise, you will be the one who will have to deal with them, and maybe eventually, after you try for a bunch of times, they will decide to come and help. I’ve had managers tell us to “trick” customers by not giving them a choice on the bottled water, and instead say, “Is Poland Spring okay?”, but when they agree and see they were charged, they ask for a refund, which the manager will then grant. I had a party come in and buy 15 bottles of water, which they complained about, and the manager took them off completely, which dented my tip and made me look bad when they were the ones who told me to do that. We were pressured to upcharge eat-and-play combos, and if customers chose the lower-priced options listed on the menu, management required us to explain why we ‘failed’ to upsell. They would scold you for someone wanting to buy something offered on our menu.
Several coworkers and I noticed multiple paycheck inconsistencies, for example, party pay or tips not showing up. I’ve had times where I have had to ask a manager directly about missing money, and then they “find it” and put it in my next check. I’m unsure what would’ve happened to my money if I did not speak up.
To end it off, we don't get breaks. Do not think about sitting down at all, even when you are cut and are doing rollups. If they see you sitting on the one chair near the table, they will genuinely pick it up and move it somewhere so you cannot use it. If you need a breather, too bad. You will be scolded for managers having to do your work if you aren’t keeping up with it. The schedule gets messed up constantly, and if they do so, it is now your responsibility to fix it. I’ve had shifts added on days after the schedule was released, when I already had plans, and I was told I have to figure it out. But to them, calling out is a no-no. They can change your schedule whenever they feel like it, but god forbid you get the flu. Even if you have a family emergency or an accident, they will ask you for medical documentation, or you will have a write-up on your record.
I say this, to deter you from supporting them. Please do not feed money to this company, or bring your kids around them. They should treat their employees better.
