  Prices are a bit too high but that's what to expect in Charleston. Remember that the majority of to fish is fresh so don't expect a large selection, only what's in season. Its the only place on the island to get fresh seafood, I don't understand costal towns. What a shame.

  My fiance and I just bought oysters from this particular Crosby's that made both of us sick before we could ever finish eating them. All of the oysters were thoroughly cooked...none were eaten raw. After being very sick that night, we spent the next 48 hours recovering from what we had eaten. Looking back on the experience, the oysters we received were not cold and had a fairly strong odor to them. The oysters did not appear to have been on ice for some time. I'm now kicking myself for overlooking these obvious clues and trusting in Crosby's to look out for our welfare. Long story short, I trusted the Crosby's name to provide me safe and quality seafood. After thinking this was probably an isolated occurrence, I contacted Crosby's (the same location) to advise them of the oysters in hopes of saving others from the same experience. The lady I spoke to did not sound very concerned or try to regain my business, nor did she give me any reason to think they would be doing anything about this. After sharing this story with others and hearing of similar experiences I decided to share this warning with others. While this is my first review, I felt it important to share our experience with others given the importance of buying safe and quality seafood from a trusted source that cares enough to install basic safeguards (i.e. the use of ice) that will help prevent people from getting sick...or simply getting quality seafood. Buyer beware!
