I was very pleasantly surprised by the service I received during my visit to Cox! I want to give a special shoutout to Laila - she was awesome! Laila provided exceptional customer service. She was knowledgeable, patient, and took the time to walk me through all of my options so I could make an informed decision. Terrible service. Back in the early 2000s, sure. Never an issue. Today, the opposite. Quite honestly the worst service provider, worse than Comcast (who owns them!). Speaking as someone who had Comcast in the past, they are superior in almost every way. I have to suffer with this service as they are the only provider in my neighborhood. Service is constantly dropping, and their only solution is to turn your modem/router off and on again. And in many cases this is DAILY. GO WITH LITERALLY ANY ONE ELSE. They are overrated, overpriced, and over moronic.
I once went to cancel their service and spent 3 hours on the phone. After several transfers and 2 disconnects, I said I was recording the call and they transferred me to someone who intentionally spoke so quietly I could not hear nor understand them. Afterwhich pointing out that I was recording the call did they "conveniently" fix their headset, I was finally able to cancel my service.
To my great dismay, I have to use their service again as they are the only provider for my neighborhood. Quiet literally proving that their give little to no care to the customers under their monopoly on neighborhoods.
They are so bad, people LITERALLY make apartment rental decisions and home purchases on the information oh who services the area. I have declined many apartments and homes myself over Cox being the only provider. I am stuck with them once more due to misinformation as to the providers of my home (which is Cox once again).
There is a reason their name is Cox, rightly due to what they use against you on a regular and constant basis.
