It has been a pleasure working with Country Charm Owen Sound. The product is quality and will last a lifetime. The delivery and installation are perfection. So happy with my dining room bench with backrest and matching bench. The office chair is so comfortable, no more than excuses not to work. Thank you everyone at Country Charm

I am really disappointed by the poor finish and subsequent follow up to make it right. I ordered a set of four maple press-back dining chairs and went to their shop to pickup when they called me. I loaded them carefully into my truck. The poor assembly and finish quality became apparent when I moved the chairs into my dining room. Of the four chairs, only three were acceptable. I called the store and explained my concerns to them. There were runs and sags in the finish, glue drips, end grain on many surfaces were rough to the touch, many surfaces had flecks of white embedded in the finish and a number of wooden hole caps had been pounded so hard into the holes that they were flattened. I was asked to return the chairs and they would fix the problems. I returned promptly with the three faulty chairs and showed each of my concerns to an employee. She assured me that they would be fixed and they would be ready in a few days. I told here there is no hurry but I wanted the work done right, not fast. Some weeks later I got an email telling me that everything was fixed and ready to go. Another disappointment - when I got there the chairs were stacked up inside the workshop door totally covered in dust. The employee that served me looked dismayed and we brought them outside into the sunshine. There were still problems that she went about dabbing touch-up marker on in an attempt to blend the white flecks in. She managed to make two of the chairs look better, but not good. I accepted them. The third chair still had a hardened blob of finish on the top corner of the chair back. A male employee attempted to sand out the flaw but was unsuccessful. I left that chair with her and said I will rerun in a week. Again, she assured me it would be fixed. I returned after the week only to find the blob was removed and they had sanded through the brown stain finish into the white maple below. She confirmed that is would not be acceptable if it was her chair and then went to fetch the manager/owner. I made it very clear to him that I was unhappy with the poor quality control. I told him that I’m an experienced instrument woodworker (20 years as a luthier) and brought up the idea of having good quality control when dealing with customers. His response was “It’s hand made furniture and I don’t want to argue”. I told him I wasn’t going to argue because the flaw is obvious. I also told him that I wanted to buy the chairs here to support a local business rather that a big box company. I conceded to him that it was obviously a mistake. He gave the flawed repair a light sanding and then spent the next 15 or so minutes dabbing the flaw with touch-up marker. He finally declared that the touch-up process was done. The flaw was darkened but blotchy. He offered for me to leave the chair but I was fed up by this time. I told him I’ll take my chair and go. He provided me with a touch-up marker just before I left and not a hint of an apology for me having to make four 45 minute trips to move poorly finished furniture.

Ordered a sideboard that needed to be a certain size to ‘fit’. Wanted it to colour match an adjacent dining room set. When it was ready to pickup it was noticed to be the wrong colour of stain. Country Charm had a second sideboard made and did pretty much a perfect colour match. This company went above and beyond to make this customer happy. Highly recommend.

Like the look of our live edge harvest table and 8 chairs but horrible company to deal with. After spending over $4000, the two arm chairs at ends of table don't even tuck in under the table as they are too high. So they are in another room and have never been used. When I called to speak with them about this issue I was told to take photos and email them. I did that and waited two weeks with no reply. I called to confirm email address just in case they didn't receive it. The email was correct and I was told at that time that the email would be brought to their attention. It has now been another three weeks and I have not heard back. Further, when the furniture was delivered, the guys installing it did not have enough screws to put into the table. It has been 7 months and still missing half the screws!!! I would never recommend this business. It's too bad because I really like the look of most of their things. Customer service is the worst I have seen in years!!
