Living at Cottage Living The Woodlands has been an absolute gift. From the very beginning, Ashlee and Chris went above and beyond to help me find the perfect spot, and I’ve never felt so loved and cared for in the process. They made sure I didn’t just find a house.. I found a home.
The cottages are beautiful and peaceful, with the most amazing lake views that make every morning feel like a retreat with peaceful trails to walk as your unwind at the end of the day. It’s pet-friendly (which means my four-legged friend loves it just as much as I do!) and the community here is something truly special—warm, welcoming, and focused on connection.
Ashlee and Chris pour their hearts into this place, and it shows. Cottage Living isn’t just where I live—it’s where I feel at home, cared for, and part of something bigger. I couldn’t be more grateful. 💛
I have been waiting more than 40 days for a refund on a deposit they took in 2.5 seconds.
They make you pay for application fees and a deposit to secure the apartment upfront and when you’re denied, there is no communication or transparency in regards to peoples MONEY.
This is unethical, dishonest & robbery of the people. I am not the only one in the reviews with this complaint of NOT REFUNDING REFUNDABLE DEPOSITS.
I’ve attempted to resolve this since mid JULY 2025 via phone and email.
I’m going to take legal action because YOU ARE IN VIOLATION OF Texas Property Code § 92.351–§ 92.354,
I wanted to share my experience with the application process at Cottage Living, specifically with Miss Camiryn. She was incredibly supportive and dedicated, taking the time to walk me through all available options and helping me select the ideal loft unit. As I transition back to the big beautiful state of Texas from Washington, I couldn't be more thrilled to join this wonderful community. Camiryn's follow-up was outstanding, and her communication was always clear and straightforward, even providing a lovely welcome letter. The entire process was smooth and hassle-free. Plus, I appreciate the user-friendly online portal for tenants, which makes submitting maintenance requests, staying updated on community events, and paying rent a breeze!

My husband and I lived in this complex for one year. Overall, I found it to be clean and nicely maintained, which I consider a big plus. We were also fortunate to have very kind neighbors, and I truly enjoyed the view of the pond from our unit.
However, I would not describe the apartment as “luxurious.” For me, that implies high quality, refinement, comfort, and elegance — none of which we experienced.
• The kitchen lacked basic finishes: no knobs on the cabinets, noisy basic-model appliances including washer and dryer, and cheap plastic fixtures.
• The master closet was small and lacked functionality, and the master bathroom was very cramped — really just suited for one person.
• In the shower, drainage gaps along the floor were left unsealed, and when we reported it, the solution was to cover them with clear silicone because the proper materials were unavailable.
• Patio light bulbs were replaced with standard indoor bulbs and had to be corrected after we raised the issue.
• Overall, the finishes and details were poorly executed for the price point of the unit.
We vacated the unit on June 30. Shortly after, we received an email detailing the prorated charges to be deducted from our security deposit. When we followed up eight days later, we were told the delay was due to the July 4th holiday. A week later, we were told the accountant was unavailable and that refunds were processed at a different location — and that the refund process takes up to one month, which had not been communicated previously.
Lived here for over 2 years and the previous management was wonderful, then we got sold and went under new management. Ever since then it’s been chaos. They came in a wiped front office (pretty standard but the way they went about it was terrible.) manager was never available to speak to, to the point where we went in one time and as we walked in she went into the restroom and we were inside for 15 minutes and as we walked out and got back in our car we saw her come back out. Anyway that management got wiped and they started from scratch again. Haven’t had much experience for the new management but seemed weird for complete new management again. They keep doing random projects on the property instead of focusing on the important things like the sprinkler systems that didn’t work in our yard and many others but installing flower beds instead. We had quite a few neighbors move out and keep in touch with all of them. Once they moved out they all received ridiculous bills that can mainly be disputed down on the basis that they are bull. Once we moved out they are trying to charge us $150 for cleaning because of a few things that we missed after spending 8 hours patching every hole, sweeping, wiping everything down, and moping. Not to mention we spent $500 of our own to install rocks in the side yard so that it wouldn’t flood but never asked for a reimbursement. It acts like a French drain system. Anyway, instead of doing their jobs and just cleaning the unit like they should anyway before someone new moves in, they expect it to be turnover ready and if it’s not then they charge you for it. They even walked the lady by who was going to be moving into our unit while we were packing. I can only assume the reason for all of this is because they can’t get enough leases or too many people are moving out, I mean they dropped the prices on their units because not enough people were moving in. they are trying to squeeze the last bit they can from the back end of people leaving because there weren’t any security deposits due to people moving in while it was under construction. We were very sad to leave, we loved our time here and were very happy to call it home for over 2 years but due to the circumstances and many others we face over the time we just couldn’t anymore. The two front desk ladies are very sweet but never could get ahold of a manager anytime I tried even to do a final walk through. Highly disappointed that such a hidden gem that the previous ladies worked so hard to build day by day turned into a big corporate project
