I wanted to give this place FIVE STARS. Both of the doctors and all of the dental assistants have been amazing every time I've come over the past few years. They offer blankets during procedures and are understanding of my OCD and anxiety.
HOWEVER. Today I went in to get my permanent crown placed from a root canal and Dr. Berthelot recommended I get the tooth next to it filled. I asked for a price as anyone would.
A benefits coordinator came to me and showed me a price. It was $140 for the filling and pulp cap with insurance. If I didn't have insurance it would come out to be $415. "It's a good thing you have insurance," she insisted. I'd already spent close to $700 in there in the last three weeks. "You don't have to pay it today. We'll send a bill since your other claims are still pending."
After everything, I got to the front to check out and schedule a cleaning with Lisa. She asks if I'm aware my dental insurance's $1000 limit has probably run out from the last two visits so today and any future appointments (including cleaning) will be the OUT OF POCKET CASH PRICE. I'm confused.
"So what does that mean? I have to pay $415 for today instead of the $140?" Yup. "NO ONE TOLD THAT TO ME. I would not have consented to a $415 procedure. This isn't right." Silence.
Now I'm upset. Beyond upset, close to tears. I thought the entire point of a benefits coordinator was to explain and confirm insurance information with the client. I don't remember the coordinator's name but her initials are SD.
There were no apologies or reassurances.
I never saw it coming or would have ever expected it from Today's Dental. I'm shaken. BEWARE.

My First Time there... The staff was very welcoming. They took time to make sure my issue was resolved in a timely manner. They were very concerned with making sure I felt no pain, that was great as you could imagine! They explained the bill before and after plus handled everything with the insurance company. The office and room was inviting and relaxing as well.
