I switched to Comstock Lawn this, after having a different company for 25 years. Cory and his crew has done a fantastic job. My grass hasn’t looked this good in years.
Frequently Asked Questions About Comstock & Sons Inc
When is the best time to put crabgrass down?
Before the soil temperature reaches 55 degrees is the best time.
When would I apply grub control?
You would apply grub control from the middle of June to the beginning of July. Grub control prevents or eliminates grubs which are the larvae of beetles that feed on your lawn roots.
Which areas do you service?
Check out our website to see our full list of service areas!
Why would I use your services?
We have been locally and family-owned for over 70 years and have over 100 years of combined experience.
When should I over-seed my lawn?
Spring or fall are the best times. But be sure not to apply pre-emergent within a few weeks of seeding. We prefer fall.
Should I use granular or liquid weed control?
We prefer liquid. It starts working on contact and gets better and faster results. Granular needs to be watered in and does not work well.
When is a good time to aerate my lawn?
Spring or fall. We prefer fall because of the cooler temperature. It can stress your lawn after aerating if the temperature gets hot. It is also a great time to seed at the same time as aerating.
How do you bill me?
We can email or send a bill in the mail after the service is done. You have 30 to pay and we accept credit cards if your invoice is emailed to you.
Are you certified?
Yes, we are certified with the state of MN and the MN Department of Agriculture.
What length should I cut my grass at?
Typically, 3"-3.5" in the summer. It helps retain moisture and shade itself. If you cut it too short it can dry out quicker.
