As part of a routine maintenance contract, Evan S came by and took care of the routine maintenance cleaning and inspection on our new heatpump (not installed by Climatemakers - long story). He found the wire that activates stage 2 of the compressor was not connected at the thermostat so the system had been running only on stage 1 since it was installed the end of December 2024. It answered the question/problem that we asked be looked at where the system would fall behind when the outdoor temp went about 91° .. Yep, only running with 60% of capacity explains that! Nice find and quick fix by Evan!! Also the new install was short about 6oz of Freon so he added that. Good to go!! Last but not least Evan got the Residio app working on my android phone in short order. Something which I had not been able to do on my own. Fabulous job from beginning to end.

Zaikel who performed our annual maintenance did an outstanding job on cleaning the units as well as diagnosing an issue with one of the systems. Job well done! After the issue was identified , Climatemakers scheduled the repair visit and the technician, Evan, arrived on schedule and repaired the HVAC unit. The repair was lengthy and Evan did an excellent job making sure all issues were resolved .

I just had my air conditioner repaired yesterday. I called in the afternoon, and a technician arrived within a couple of hours. The technician, named Garry Gappy, was outstanding! He diagnosed the problem right away, demonstrating his deep knowledge of HVAC systems. He was very helpful, respectful, and informative. He even pointed out issues that no other technician had ever mentioned about my system before. Garry truly represents the company well, and I hope he is compensated accordingly!

The easiest install and process ever. My last unit I purchased from one of the larger companies here in the area, and the customer service was garbage. I was referred to this company by several friends, and I have been nothing but pleased from the installation to every aspect of customer service.

Garry was friendly, informative, and knowledgeable. I enjoyed the time he spent showing me information about my unit both inside the house and outside. He was very thorough. He's about his work!! He's also a great fisherman and chief.

Frequently Asked Questions About Climatemakers of VA

Does turning my thermostat up or down save money on my energy bills?

Yes! Resetting the thermostat when you are asleep or away from home can save money. By adjusting your thermostat four to six degrees up (in the summer) or down (in the winter) reduces the amount of run time for your heating and cooling system, leading to a reduction in energy costs. We recommend upgrading to a programmable thermostat to "set it and forget it" so you can control your energy usage on a daily and seasonal basis.

What is a SEER Rating, and why should I know about it?

SEER stands for "Seasonal Energy Efficiency Ratio" - it's rating measures how efficient an HVAC system is by calculating the cooling output for a typical cooling season divided by the total electric energy output during the same time frame. The higher SEER rating an HVAC unit has, the more energy efficient it is, which can be a compelling reason to purchase - however, the downside is that higher SEER ratings can often mean higher purchase prices. Be sure to speak with your Comfort Consultants for advice on the best system for your budget and home.
