Honestly give them a negative star. The salesperson Chris was absolutely AMAZING. The lady Jessica that sets up for the contractor to fix things is a completely different story though. Called her March 28th 2024 to let them know about my flooring having debris or something under it and the sliding door lock not locking and the big chunk missing from the framing of the sliding door and it took until December 5th 2024 for the contractor to replace the lock. Jessica had told me on numerous occasions that the contractor had to do chemo and that's why he wasn't showing up when he was supposed to. When we moved into the home the trim wasnt even attached with more than maybe 3-5 nails per piece. That was never fixed so my husband and I did it ourselves, my countertop had to be replaced due to big scratches from one side to the other, a whole section of wall replaced and I told them the day that my electricity would be turned on and that I had turned off the breaker box so the hot water heater wouldn't be ruined.... Come to the home to do the walk through and surprise!!! The lights in bathrooms are on and in one of the bedrooms.. So why is that if I physically turned the entire breaker box off? Fast forward to moving in and go to take a shower and no hot water.... Took them DAYS to get that replaced. My front door is separated from the wall and you can see the outside, call the home center and Jessica gives me the run around and tells my husband and I to just tighten the screws up on the door handle, he did and guess what?? We have to tighten it at least every 2 weeks due to improper install. I reached out to the home center again and was told by Jessica that the contractor that was "supposed" to do the repairs had passed away in March of this year. I'm just curious as to why the contractors health is of my concern? I don't mean to sound uncompassionate but why would you schedule someone going through chemo weekly to do repairs knowing his health was going to affect the quality of service given to a customer? Now that it has been over a year since purchase the flooring and the cabinets that are falling off aren't covered.... Hmmmm..... Do better Clayton Homes and maybe hire some people that will actually do their job and will not take 8 months to get a simple handle replaced. She wasted my 1 year warranty I believe completely on purpose as the home center I'm sure was tired of replacing things that weren't correct to begin with. I mean a whole countertop, a section of wall and a new water heater were needed so I'm sure they were just tired of fixing the things that should have been done right from the beginning. Over 90,000 dollars on a home that is literally falling apart around me and we have only owned it almost 19 months. I wish I could just give it back and end my mortgage. DO NOT BUY FROM CLAYTON HOMES unless you want to waste your money and live in a home that will fall apart around you. Worst experience ever!
