We got our keys 4 1/2 almost 5 years ago from Clayton Homes. Since the day we got our keys, our French doors have leaked with rain and snow. They have been here several times trying to fix the leak unsuccessfully. Factory says it is an extended warranty issue and extended warranty says it is a factory issue since this has been a problem from day one. Also, we have to repair the panels and paint the outside of our house already, the stem wall is cracking, our a/c has gone out 4 times with 2 different companies saying the a/c unit is too small for our house, shower has leaked after it was repaired by Clayton Homes and cabinets in the kitchen has fallen down. Very poor quality building. I just want my French Doors to stop leaking!

Edit: Clayton Homes replied to my post and yet again is lying. They didn't max out our budget for the home we were purchasing. I have over 20 emails back-and-forth regarding the cost breakdown. Each email from them was a back peddling of their previous explanation of fees. Their reply doesn't even make sense. How would I have bought a house at the same cost if Clayton went over my budget. I used the same lender and didn't have any additional funding either. Try try again.
Make sure you get straight answers on the cost breakdown for your home. They changed their story multiple times when it came to costs. Not to mention, they flat out lied I'm regards to the roof requirements. That, of course, was to get us to buy the more expensive product. When I pointed that out they told me, "After talking with my management team, we have decided that we are not a good fit and we feel there is now a trust factor moving forward.". Which was true. I didn't trust them because they were being shifty. 100% don't go to them for a home. There is a new company in PV called Southwest Homes and they have been fantastic. I got a better home than I would have gotten from Clayton for the same price. It would have been cheaper but we upgraded for things we wanted. Not only that but they were straight forward with the costs and upfront about everything.
I wouldn't recommend Clayton homes to a fly and have since met a number of people that have had bad experiences with them.
Untrustworthy is one of the nice things I could say about them. Make sure to check EVERYTHING if you go to them.
