  We moved into our home October 2020 with zero water leak issues. June 21st 2022 American Water company controls the means and method and has Civil Design inc. Come out and “upgrade” the water meter. We gave access without pause. Fast forward to December 2022, we now have black mold growing after the authorized utility contractor from CDI that the AWC hired finished the “upgrade” on our water meter. After calling the AWC I was told that my claim is denied and that we would have to pursue the third party contractor CDI. Yes, the same company that the AWC contracted the job out to. The same job where the means and method were controlled by the AWC. I wish I could switch providers, but sadly there is not another provider in my area which the 1 star review already speaks for itself. The pictures are the quality of work I have come to expect from either company. I hope these pictures help you to decide to either A: settle in a place that the American Water company does not operate in and B: make sure you use a contractor that can install a water meter upgrade without negligently causing a leak after the work is performed.
