Concern Regarding Refund Policy and Customer Service Experience
Dear City Trends Customer Service,
I’m writing to express my concern regarding a recent experience I had at your store. Earlier today, I made a purchase using cash. Since there were no fitting rooms available, I was unable to try the items on. Upon returning home, I realized that several items did not fit, so I brought them back to the store just a few hours later.
At the time of the return, I was assisted by a sales associate named Aaliyah (or possibly another associate using the ID number 4112472, as listed on my receipt). I was informed that I could only receive a gift card for the returned items, not a cash refund. However, upon reviewing the receipt, I noticed it clearly states that full cash refunds are available within 30 days for purchases made with cash. I pointed this out, and only then was I told that a cash refund was actually possible.
Unfortunately, by that time, I had already committed to using the gift card for items I promised to get for my mom and aunt, so I went ahead with the gift card instead of insisting further.
This experience was frustrating and felt misleading. Whether it was due to a lack of training or a mistake, it resulted in an inconvenience that could have easily been avoided. I would appreciate it if you could look into this matter, ensure that proper training is in place for your staff regarding refund policies, and advise how situations like this can be better handled in the future.
