  Lack of Accountability in Handling a Serious Safety Incident On May 2, 2024, I arrived early to pick up my child (Intermediate A classroom) and found my kid crying and stating that a teacher had hit him on the face and back. I immediately reported this in writing to the director with full details and photos. Despite the seriousness of the matter, there was no formal acknowledgment, investigation update, or follow-up communication. This incident followed an earlier concern in the Intermediate B class, where my child was repeatedly hurt by another student. I was assured that moving him to a new class would ensure his safety, but the issue persisted. Daily reports were also inaccurate—for example, showing a nap time after my child had already been picked up before naptime. I withdrew him from the school and requested a refund of tuition, but received neither a response nor reimbursement. This reflects a serious lack of transparency and accountability in addressing child safety concerns.

  If you’re looking for after-school care in the area, I can’t say enough good things about Chesterbrook Academy. The after-school program actually takes all age elementary school kids too! From the moment we enrolled, we felt welcomed and supported. Principal Brandy Roberts leads with genuine warmth and kindness — she creates a positive environment where kids feel seen and valued every day. Mr. Carlos is fantastic with the kids, bringing so much enthusiasm and care to the after-school program. They do an incredible job with children of all elementary school ages, keeping them safe, engaged, and happy after a long day. The smiles at pick-up say it all! We’re so grateful for the love and attention this team gives to every child.

  We couldn’t be more grateful for the amazing care our child receives at Chesterbrook Academy Preschool of Ballantyne. From the very first tour we felt welcomed and confident that our little one would be treated with kindness, patience, and genuine attention. Every day we see how the teachers go above and beyond — they take the time to learn each child’s personality, celebrate their little successes, and guide them thoughtfully through new experiences. The classroom environment is warm and inviting, the learning is engaging, and the communication with us as parents is excellent. We especially appreciate the daily updates, photos, and insights into what our child is exploring — it gives us such peace of mind knowing they’re in caring hands. What stands out is how our child isn’t just “watched,” but truly nurtured: encouraged to ask questions, supported in building friendships, and guided to grow both socially and academically. We see the difference it makes. If you’re looking for a preschool where your child is valued, safe, and thriving, this is the place. Highly recommend!!

  We’ve had a wonderful experience at Chesterbrook Academy @ Ballantyne! The teachers are caring, attentive, and truly love what they do. My kids are always excited to go to school and come home happy. The teachers and staff are amazing — they treat every child with so much kindness and patience. The classrooms are clean, organized, and full of fun learning activities. Highly recommend!

  We’ve had such a great experience with Chesterbrook so far. The teachers are amazing—my son absolutely loves Ms. Abigail. Since this is his first time in daycare, I was a little nervous, but Ms. Abigail always keeps me updated and reassured on how he’s adjusting, which means so much. The principal, Ms. Brandy, and assistant principal, Ms. Wendy, have also been incredible and truly go above and beyond. My husband and I couldn’t be happier, and we have no complaints. Highly recommend!
