They charged me $2000.00 for pain meds and fluids, then killed my dog. I had another vet review my bill and was told I was triple and double charged. People need to start filing complaints with the WV Board of Vetrinary Medicine. There is a form on the website wherein you can file a complaint. This place does not care about animals they just want to take all your money. People need to stand up to them they are ridiculous!!!!

Two weeks ago, I had to unexpectedly say goodbye to my sweet fur baby and Cheat Lake Animal Hospital was recommended to me for emergencies. My dog was not a patient of theirs, but the entire staff was nothing but amazing. They took us right away and took amazing care of both my dog and I. I cannot be more thankful and praise Cheat Lake Animal Hospital enough. I highly recommend them for any emergencies or even if you are just looking for a Vet for your fur baby. Thank you so much again for taking care of my baby and being so loving and compassionate during the hardest time for me. I will forever be grateful and appreciative.

We found our beloved pet yesterday afternoon pretty well lifeless, our local vet when we called said there's nothing open and this was at 4pm and they didnt close till 6. They told us we could come at 9am. We knew our dog was in immense pain and knew that he probably would not make it threw the night. We stressed that to them, and they still said 9am. I reached to a friend and she said go to Cheat Lake Animal Hospital it's 24 hour ER for pets. We gather our furry friend and drove and hour to get there. As soon as we checked in they had a vet tech come out immediately. They took him right back and got us into a room. They had looked him over and told us really bad news. They suggested that we put him to sleep that night, but none of our children got to say good bye yet. So they said they could give him fluids and pain medication to bring him home to see the child. They were not sure if he would make it through the night. We brought home home for everyone to say goodbye to him. When we woke up in the morning we called them to let them we were on our way and they said they would have a room save for us. They went above and beyond and with out a doubt super, super helpful in so many ways. They let us be in the room and hold him for his farewell. I would absolutely recommend they to anyone that were very kind and reasonable. If I could give them more the 5 stars I would definitely give them 100.

Our dear, sweet new family member came to us from a shelter where she’d been surrendered by her previous owner. We were concerned about several existing health issues and how best to help her. Dr. Rosmarin and her assistant Tammy could not have been more attentive and collaborative with us. Together with their expertise we came up with a plan to help our new pet to her best health with assurances that Dr. Rosmarin will continue to help us reassess and make changes to our pet’s care as needed. We feel incredibly lucky to have such knowledgeable care for our pets. Cheat Lake Animal Hospital is a beautiful, supportive asset to our community.

I would like to share an experience so others can hopefully avoid a similar fate. Please do not take your pets to Cheal Lake Animal Hospital if you have an emergency. Our dog Rooney was experiencing some redness and irritation in his eye earlier and was suddenly refusing to eat, so I contacted our normal veterinarian at Paw Prints. They had no availability until Monday, so we had to take Rooney to Cheat Lake because the emergency vet in Fairmont did not open until 6:00 PM. I know of several friends who have had negative experiences there, but we took him due to limited options at that time. Two hours after arriving home with nothing more than a couple of prescription antibiotics and a minor check up, he was vomiting and collapsing on the floor. We rushed him to the emergency clinic in Fairmont, and by the time we arrived, he was struggling to breathe. They proceeded to ask about paperwork and other inconsequential items while he labored to breathe, so we finally just picked him up and started carrying him in. They tried chest compressions, CPR, etc., but they were unable to get him back. Unfortunately, he passed away with no known preexisting medical conditions less than 3 hours after being seen at Cheat Lake Animal Hospital with no testing and a complete dismissal of anything serious. Please do not take your animals to this clinic for anything serious. If you do currently, I would strongly urge you to reconsider. Had other options been available, I certainly would have never gone there. If leaving less than one star was possible, that would be reflected on this review.
