I've lived in 4 apartments in DC, and Chatham Courts was by far my favorite. It offered a really reasonable rate for a great location. I enjoyed the location (across from a hardware store and Potters House and walking distance to Rock Creek Park, 18th st, Safeway, and Philz). My studio apt had a great look/feel - it felt very spacious, had a decent sized walked in closet and bathroom, and a separate kitchen area. I loved the lobby area, the beautiful hardwood floors in my apt, and how quiet the apt was. Lenox, Lena, and Patrick were always super helpful, responsive, and kind; any issues I had were fixed promptly. A lot of people who live there have lived there for a long time, which can give you a sense of how much people like it.
The only downsides for me was that laundry is in the basement and hallways have an odd lighting, but I considered that pretty minor. They fumigated regularly and I only saw 1-2 bugs for the year I lived there, which is pretty good for an older building. It's not a party building, but that's another reason I liked it. All in all, loved my experience and would highly recommend; if I were to ever live in DC again, I would consider moving here.

I lived at Chatham Courts for almost 4 years and I absolutely loved living there! The building was always kept clean, the people who work there are amazing!! Lennox is one of the most helpful, kind, attentive staff person I've ever come across!! Lena is also wonderful! she's friendly, responsive, professional and just a pleasure to work with, both of them are! Patrick is also helpful and attentive. Whenever I had a maintenance request, it was handled within 24 hours. The building is on the older side and it lacks the amenities of more modern buildings, like a rooftop and gym, but for the price and location it's one of the best buildings in the area. It also has a vintage charm. I'm so happy and grateful for my experience there. I always felt safe in the building and it's conveniently located to metros (Columbia Heights and Woodley Park Metro are about a 10 minute walk and there's a bus line that takes you straight into Dupont Circle and downtown DC almost in front of the building.) I didn't see any roaches or bugs in my apartment in the almost 4 years I lived there. 5/5 would definitely recommend!!!
