We went for lunch at their Veranda Restaurant. While the hummus in the Crudite was amazing..seriously, the veggies included a rotted pepper and a molding cauliflower 😥. The pizzas are huge and delicious. Great crust. We had the Pear and Honey and the Margarita. The Tomato salad was great!
While a good meal, for the price paid; the veggies in the Crudite should be fresh and crisp.

I don’t get it. How can the owner have this much real estate and yet not know what the guests are experiencing?
We stayed here many years ago and didn’t love it. However we tried it again as part of a drive up the east coast.
Our room was ready early and we enjoyed a very nice lunch.
The hostess wanted to seat us on top of another table at 3:00pm. The restaurant as you can imagine was not very busy.
She was frustrated when we didn’t obey and asked for a different table.
But when I got to my room and turned on the TV to watch FOX NEWS the channel was blocked.
All other channels worked fine. I called the front desk and they said they would fix it. So we went for a walk came back called again and she said it was fixed.
It was not and she said she would look into it Never happened.
Left, Right or Center, that is poor taste and a negative guest experience.

My fiancé and I were staying nearby for our honeymoon and had been referred by several friends and clients to the Chatham Inn bar! We were so looking forward to a cozy, romantic evening with appetizers and drinks, but from the moment we arrived, the atmosphere was tense and unwelcoming.
When we first pulled in, the valet was noticeably unfriendly. We brushed it off, thinking maybe it’s because we’d entered the wrong driveway, after all it was our first time there. After finding the correct entrance, the second interaction was slightly warmer, but still not the level of hospitality you’d expect from such a highly regarded inn.
Inside we were greeted at the concierge desk with the same lack of warmth. My husband and I made a real effort to be friendly and lighthearted, not wanting to let one staff interaction define the night. As business owners ourselves, we understand that one person’s mood shouldn’t shape a guest’s experience. Unfortunately, that sense of judgment and indifference continued through every encounter, from the door to the dining room.
Despite feeling out of place, we decided to make the most of it and ordered the seafood platter. The food itself was okay. The lobster and shrimp were fresh, but the sauces it came with didn’t really complement the flavors, and there was no explanation or description of what was being served. It just felt a bit impersonal and confusing for such an expensive dish, not to mention the fruit flys landing on our food and drinks.
To make things more uncomfortable, someone came over mid-meal to ask our last name “for their records,” something I didn’t notice being done to any other couple. We even asked our server if it was okay that we were there since we weren’t guests of the inn, that’s how out of place we felt.
Our server, Jeremy, was truly wonderful! He was attentive, kind, and the only person who made us feel welcome. He was the one redeeming part of the evening.
I rarely leave negative reviews, my family owns several service-based businesses in Connecticut, including marinas, so I understand that no place is perfect. But no matter what, we treat every guest with the same respect. The lack of hospitality we experienced here was disappointing and uncomfortable, especially on our honeymoon.
If you’re looking for a genuinely warm and welcoming experience, we actually had a much better time and meal down the street at Squires.

Chatham Bars Inn is a beautiful spot with real Cape Cod character calm, scenic, and peaceful. The location alone makes it worth the trip. The rooms were nice but could use a few updates for the price point, and the service was good but not quite 5-star consistent. Still, there’s something special about the view and energy here perfect for unwinding and reflecting. A great stay overall with room for small refinements. ⭐⭐⭐⭐ #LouieKsUp #LegacyInMotion #PurposeOverPeople

My wife and I chose this hotel as another stop on our honeymoon, and unfortunately, it didn’t quite meet expectations.
Before arriving, I called reception twice to confirm the hotel would remain open since a nor’easter was heading for the Cape. Both times, the staff made it feel like I was inconveniencing them by asking. Once we arrived, that same attitude carried over. None of the staff smiled or made us feel genuinely welcome at all. Any time we had a question, small request, or small talk for that matter, it seemed like a bother, and staff would often redirect us to another department. Lots of blank stares and frustrated staff. For example, when I asked the front desk for local activity recommendations, I was told that it wasn’t her job and to ask the concierge instead. Also, some of the drivers were impatient to say the least. We requested a ride to the main building and waited in our room due to rain and wind. A frustrated driver knocks on the door proclaiming that he’s been waiting for six minutes and was just about to leave us. On the ride back, I shut the door to get out and another driver speeds off almost kicking rocks up at us.
We had lunch at one of the hotel restaurants. The food was average at best. The spa suite included a complimentary bottle of champagne, which was a nice touch, but the room itself felt a bit plain and had ongoing Wi-Fi issues.
For a Forbes-rated five-star hotel, the hospitality was surprisingly underwhelming. We had planned to extend our stay another night but ultimately decided to book elsewhere instead.
That said, a big shoutout to Kathryn. She was helpful, kind, and stood out among the staff.
