It’s unfortunate I have to leave a 1-star review because the actual work the contractors did was not bad. The issue with Casualty is that they are dishonest and fraudulent. They tried to charge me almost double and there were items on the bill that weren’t done and materials that weren’t used. One example - They tried to charge me for ceramic tile flooring when I chose vinyl plank flooring. I had to show physical proof that some of the things they were trying to charge me for were not actually done. After going back and forth with their billing dept for almost a year, they threatened to sue me if I did not pay the bill (which had still not been corrected). I hired an attorney and was ready to fight this in court as they actually broke their own work agreement contract by not providing me an estimate before the work started. It took me pointing this out for them to correct the bill. In my opinion they are a very shady company. I believe whoever handles their billing also works for other companies because their e-mail signature had many different company names instead of Casualty Restoration. Overall I found them to be super disorganized and untrustworthy to deal with but I am satisfied with the work the two contractors did on my kitchen.

I do believe they’re trying their best, it’s just their best is really bad. The knowledge and skills just aren’t there. I don’t like to give negative reviews but feel it’s my duty to warn others from the headache and wasted time, resources, money, and peace. Life is too short so save yourself the frustration.

Everyone was helpful and professional. They were quick and did great work! I hope I don't need their services again, but if I do, they will be the first people I call.

Stay Away. We hired Casualty Restorations on the recommendation of our insurance company after a condensation pipe burst causing water damage to our garage ceiling. They were recommended by American Family Insurance. The project started July 2 and took 7 weeks. The ceiling still looks awful. The team sent out were incompetent. They said they could get it all done in one day – mud, sand, and paint, which I’ve never heard of for drywall repair. At first, they didn’t hang plastic to reduce drywall dust on our things. They cut out small portions of the drywall and then attempted to patch in new pieces instead of removing larger areas and replacing with larger sheets of drywall. They said they were not authorized by Ray Toelke to cut out any additional drywall. They used so much mud there was no way to ever get the ceiling flat and smooth. They dripped white ceiling paint on the gray walls. We complained to Ray who came out to look at the unevenness of the ceiling 2 weeks later. He sent out another drywaller. The new drywaller worked on it for 4 more days. You can still see waves in the ceiling and outlines where they patched. We have since asked Ray for the owner’s name and phone number to discuss the shoddy workmanship and payment. Instead of providing this information, or asking the owner to call us, Ray threatened to put a lien on our house and file a lawsuit against us. He said they have a loss on this project. It’s not our fault he used unskilled drywallers and painters. We have explained this to our insurance company and asked them to remove Casualty Restoration from their list of recommended vendors. Stay away from this company.
