The space felt lively yet grounding—the perfect environment to quiet the mind and let creativity flow. What I loved most was experiencing scent without a label. Without names attached, I could tune into my own body’s response and discover what truly resonated with me. It reminded me how much judgment we place on scent (and so many things in life), and how freeing it is to let that go. The process of exploring, blending, and creating felt both mindful and playful—I left not only with a candle, but also with a deeper appreciation for how scent connects to presence.

It’s a lovely memory, and a lovely scent. The shop owner/manager is truly delightful too- she chats and makes you feel like a welcome friend coming for tea. She lets you experience the scents for yourself, and is knowledgeable about scent profiles and can help you narrow it down, which is the perfect thing in a shop like this. So many great options, that your nose may have to come back and buy more. (Or at least that has been my experience.) 😅😍

They have a huge variety of scents and sizes of candles for you to choose from, and if you are interested in making your own candles, you can take a class here for a small fee, or buy an at-home candle making kit. The staff was very helpful and interactive. They also have plenty of small accessories and gift ideas.

What kind of wax do you use?
Our unique Hemp Wax is a clean burning, natural vegan blend of organic hemp, soy, + coconut wax
Free of gluten, toxins, parabens and phthalates and come from renewable sources.
Can I recycle my vessel?
YES! We take back all Carpe Noctem Candle vessels to recycle. Please bring your vessel back and receive 10% off your next Carpe Noctem Candle. We do not take other companies vessels, even if purchased in store.
Wha tkind of frangrances do you use?
Our exclusive collection of clean, phthalate-free fragrance oils are unique, sophisticated and created using fine fragrance oils + pure essential oils from around the globe.
We work with several vendors to ensure vegan, cruelty free, paraben free, mutagen-free, carcinogen-free oils.
We offer over 100 different specialty blends of oils
What is your return policy?
Because of the nature of our product we can not accept returns after purchase or after use. You can bring in unused candles within 7 days of receipt for an exchange of equal value.
How should I make my candle last?
Trim the wick to 1/4" before lighting,
Make sure the hot wax pool reaches the edges of your vessel each time
Do not burn continuously for more than 4 hours
How do Pour Your Own Candle Experiences work?
We do recommend ages 11 and up for the Pour Your Own Experience. Those 15 and younger must be accompanied by an adult, and children over 16 must have permission from an adult.
All candles must be picked up or shipped within 2 weeks of experience before forfeited their candles.
