  This was a recommendation from locals. We were in DC for the Commander in Chief tennis tournament at the Army Navy Country Club. We easily accessed parking and we didn’t have a wait. Everyone was friendly and all of our dishes were delicious.

  The Carlisle honestly feels like Arlington’s version of Old Ebbitt—but a little more modern, a little more local. It’s one of those places that just works. The space is open and welcoming, you can usually find a table without a wait, and the menu truly has something for everyone. It’s right in the heart of Shirlington, with easy parking (thank goodness), and the service is consistently solid. I had the cheeseburger this time—juicy, generous, and exactly what I wanted. The Carlisle is kind of the “easy button” spot… when you don’t want to overthink it but still want good food, good vibes, and a place that just feels easy.

  The food and service are top notch!!! 👌 I wish fried green tomatoes were a daily thing. They are so yummy. The Waldorf salads another favorite 😍 I'm always greeted with a smile from start to finish. It's like home♡

  The only problem was they changed my rate after the fact and it was about 150 higher. Other than that, their service and acc9modations were impeccable. That is why I gave 5 stars. I have no problem paying for Great service.

  Carlyle Restaurant in Arlington VA has been around since the 1980s! It always looks updated and has an inviting atmosphere! The food is good and they have an extensive Gluten Free options list as well! The entree options are varied (typical of a cafe) and pricing seems appropriate for the area! They offer outdoor setting and lots of indoor seating. Ample room for large groups and small intimate dining as well. The atmosphere is lively but the noise is not overwhelming. You could easily bring children as well.. and they have a children’s menu! Great place for locals and tourists too! Enjoy!
