We had our 10-year-old son, who has moderate autism, evaluated for academic progress at this center. During our initial phone call, the evaluator assured us that she had experience working with autistic children. Unfortunately, our experience did not reflect that. First, we were required to pay the full amount upfront. Once the assessment began, it quickly became clear that the evaluator lacked a proper approach for working with an autistic child. She asked us to stay in the room during the session, which we were perfectly fine with. However, a promised 3-hour evaluation lasted only about 1 hour and 45 minutes. Our son became overwhelmed by her rushed and impersonal approach, which felt more like an attempt to “get it over with” than a thoughtful assessment. She then gave us a nearly hour-long break, during which nothing was done. When we returned, our son was naturally curious and wanted to explore the center. Instead of being understanding, the evaluator seemed frustrated and upset. She continued to rush through the assessment and skipped several key areas, stating that he "wouldn't be able to do it." When we asked how a complete evaluation could be made without testing those areas, our concerns were dismissed. In the end, the \$250 evaluation fell far short of what was promised. For other caregivers seeking genuine academic support for their children, we advise caution. Don’t be misled by surface-level assurances—look for professionals who show both competence and compassion.

Excellent tutoring center and very caring and incredibly knowledgeable teachers. We came here after Huntington Learning Center closed and CLC is significantly better and way more personal. The program is customized for each student based on goals and desires. We are here for enrichment and it has exceeded our expectations. Highly recommended it to anyone.

Both of my children have benefited from the great teachers and support at California Learning Center. My son is on the Autism spectrum and has an IEP. Sandy Hampton assisted our family with Special Education advocacy to help us navigate the confusing world of our public school district’s Special Ed professionals. He’s now a high schooler with incredible grades and a huge social circle. I truly believe that Sandy’s work has contributed to his huge success. My daughter was struggling with 3rd and 4th grade starting from the onset of the COVID epidemic. The switch to online classroom learning was extremely hard for her. She worked with Pam at CLC who tutored her. Most importantly, Pam helped her regain her confidence in the subject. My daughter losing her confidence felt tragic so having CLC’s support made a huge difference. She is going into 7th grade and talks about how much she LOVES math now! Thank you for helping my children, CLC!

I was referred to CLC by my trusted friends who had gone there before with their own children. My child attends a private school and receives tons of support and attention at school, but was still missing a few key points here and there in math. We took our child toward the end of the school year because we discovered that you can enroll at any time and CLC's schedules are super flexible and have many spots to choose from. To begin with, ALL of CLC's educators have their teaching credentials which, to me, means that they know exactly what they're doing when tutoring (i.e., educating) my child. CLC tested our child to gauge where they stood and to give us a baseline in order to show whether our child improved or not after a certain amount of hours of attending CLC. Sure enough, after about 3 months of going to CLC, our child increased their score substantially. The fact that CLC keeps our child engaged and wanting to return (because they have a terrific ticket-buys-goodies shelf) is a huge plus. Now, our other child keeps asking us when it'll be their turn to go. LOL We believe that CLC has made a tremendous difference in our child and will return time and time again whenever we see that our child(ren) needs an extra push or refresher
