My bar tab was closed out with a tip that I did not leave. The bartender increased it on their own. Also, for our normal party (not a large party with automatic gratuity), the tip was calculated on the total WITH tax. So even though I chose 20% on the tablet, the tip was actually more than 20% because the tip was not calculated on the subtotal. You should never have to tip on money that goes to the government - it is TAX -- not food or a service provided! They know what they are doing... cheating people out of their money.

While I loved the beer selection, which is BTW nothing short of fantastic!!!, our food was mediocre in flavor in addition to being "lost".
Perhaps it would have been a better experience if the server was aware of the food not having been delivered and took an interest in the service.
The saving grace was the food runner and her attention to detail, as well as her show of care when asked if she could help with the food order.
We sat on the top floor in a beautiful day. The place is right in the center of a ton of other bars and sites visit.

Our coffee orders were wrong so right off the bat I wasn't impressed. Then our meals came out before our appetizer. (Cheese curds, premade sysco type product, don't serve this to me and call it a "special") the eggs were way over done and yolks broken, were supposed to be over easy so we sent them back and asked them to bring out fresh plates when we were done with our cheese curds. They came back 5 mins later with new eggs but they just put the eggs on the same old food so it came out cold. The manager was very understanding and didn't charge us for our food(we barely ate any of it) I eat at centraal all the time and had a great experience at Hollander a week ago but this was a bad experience. The service staff was nice and attentive otherwise this would easily be 1 star

I don’t normally like to write negative reviews, although I have to make an exception when corporate restaurants like this put out such low quality food at such an exorbitant amount of money. Came here for my sister’s birthday as the atmosphere deems celebratory vibes. All dishes ordered came out cold, and fries I had to ask for fresh as they were sitting out im sure the entirety of the crew completing the rest of the ticket. Stale and cold to the touch. Ordered the mushroom soup that was just barely warm and chicken sliders that I bet weren’t even in the hot box. It all deserved to be taken back but ugh I hate complaining. Stop charging so much for shitty food. It makes sense to be paying more in an area like the Third Ward but gosh, at least put out quality, HOT, flavorful food. I say this because as a cook myself, I hold a lot of integrity when it comes to making and putting out good food. It doesn’t have to be award-winning, but at least serve it fresh and put some flavor in it. Will never recommend place to anyone.

This was not an easy place to review though it is definately a well known place of the area.
Now the food we had was okayish, though it took them some serious time to deliver it.
The real surprise came from the beers. I came here especialy to try their beers since they proclaimed themselfes able to match a beer to any kind of food in their menu and they literaly have a beer book.
First beer I asked was not available. Second one I asked for they "just finished it". Both were on tap.
Thir beer was on can, called Stone IPA. For my surprise the beer was definately been staying for some time in their fridge, the foam did not lied.
More over, the beers they have, the european niché monk style precious stuff, it's just to pretentious things for one to be able to enjoy and it is definately not a good idea to spend 7 or 8 or 10usd to find that out on your own pocket, especialy when waiters are completely oblivious to recommend you or to teach one about their 'tens of different beers.
If you go here just avoid the pretentious stuff and hope they have it.
