Editing Review on 4/22/25 - I received a hand written card from the owners with a gift cart to Starbucks. I appreciate the follow up and kind gesture. That is good customer service. Even though the process to receive my license was not as smooth as expected, they recognized the challenges and apologized. Increasing my rating to 4 stars.

The sales process was super easy, Jeselle was very responsive, informative, and professional.
When the class started, there were only 4 students in my class which was not a problem and we had enough time to practice on each other.
Oscar, our instructor, was great! He had no issue letting us students use him as a guinea pig and was very responsive to our emails and questions. He did a wonderful job getting us confident to work with patients and we were truly grateful for him. I hear he is no longer working at CA Trade Academy, which is unfortunate for the school as he was a great instructor.
When we finished the training, it was an easy transition to the externship. I had a good experience at the urgent care and working with Dr. Michael and his team. No complaints until that point and would probably have given the school 5 stars then.
However, the issues started once we (me and another girl from my class) had to apply for our CA state license. The diploma and externship forms were rejected many times for not fulfilling the state requirements.
We worked with Mona, the school owner, to get things resolved, but the communication was slow in the beginning and required multiple follow-ups on our part.
Once she started being responsive, there was always something incorrect with the documents supplied by the school, and it took multiple rejections, lots of patience, and 2 months of back-and-forth corrections to finally get my license approved.
My friend is still dealing with rejections and can't start her new job until her license gets approved. If the documents are not corrected in the next few days, they will mark her application as abandoned, and she will have to start the process all over again, paying for the application fee again.
I would recommend that the school connect with the CDPH to ensure the school complies with its requirements so that when future students apply, they can be approved without any delays.
This is the minimum you would expect from a Phlebotomy School, that they know what their students need to receive their license.
I am grateful for the experience but would recommend that future students request a money-back guarantee if they experience the same issues with their license application or some sort of guarantee to prevent this from happening to them.
