Why is sealcoat used for pavement driveways and parking lots?
Asphalt is made of stones and fine sands held together by cement to give pavement its color. Over time, the binding degrades and begins to fade and crack. Sealcoating creates a barrier to protect against UV rays, weather, and chemicals.
How long does sealcoating normally last?
If your pavement is in great shape, sealcoating can last up to three years. If your pavement is older, it may need to be sealed annually.
