Went in because my kitten had a hotspot on his ear after recovering from earmites. He has been in a cone because he wouldn't stop scratching it and I said I'd really like to find a treatment that gets him out of the cone asap. They suggested "probably" leaving him in the cone and while they were very kind, didn't seem confident in what the issue was. They cleaned his ears and gave ear drops and another medicine but it solved nothing. When I asked if we can do a no-charge follow-up they said I waited too long to ask, but that's because I was doing weekly ear drops to see if he just needed more time. For a $500 visit, I was hoping for at least partial improvement instead of zero results.
Sad that so many vets are being scooped up by private equity just to make money. Please find an independent vet.

This review is late, but I believe it’s important to share for the benefit of other pet parents.
We brought our 6-month-old kitten (3.25 kg) to BondVet in February 2023, five days after her spay surgery. She had become hyperactive and was licking the incision site, which led to a seroma.
The treatment plan prescribed was:
Onsior 6 mg (once daily, for 3 days)
Gabapentin 100 mg (2–3 times daily, for 3 days) for pain and anxiety
We followed the prescription initially, though as scientists familiar with Gabapentin’s mechanism of action, we limited her to 2 doses per day and discontinued after 2 days.
Unfortunately, our kitten’s behavior changed drastically afterward. She went from being sweet, exploratory, and cuddly to showing persistent aggression — frequent biting and clawing throughout the day. Because spaying typically reduces aggression, we doubt this was surgery-related.
Gabapentin is typically dosed at 5–10 mg/kg, 2–3 times daily. For a 3.25 kg cat, this equates to ~16–33 mg per dose. The prescribed dose (100 mg) was therefore 3–6 times the recommended amount, which may have contributed to a paradoxical reaction.
What could have been done differently:
Starting with a lower, weight-appropriate dose
Providing clear explanation of possible uncommon side effects
I’m sharing this to highlight the importance of cautious dosing and transparent communication. While every pet is different, a more careful approach could have prevented what became a very distressing experience.
