Had BO's Electric install a Generac whole house generator. An amazing experience with excellent communication from Roger. Roger called a few days before the install to make sure I was aware of everything they needed from my end. He also called the day before just in case any changes were needed. On the morning of the install we met outside and did a final walk of the job. Roger and Coco, the electricians, did a great job. They had the generator installed and wired up to the house in about 90 minutes. The gas technicians, Shawn and Neptali came next and had the tank buried and gas lines installed per the plan. System was leak checked and then the generator was checked out. All power checked out and I feel comfortable knowing that with any upcoming power outages from storms or anything that my home will be protected.

I am currently giving a 3-star rating, whereas in the past I would have given 5 stars. My experience with the company has changed over time, primarily due to issues with customer service. When I first started working with this company, customer service was excellent. I felt supported and communication was clear and efficient. Lately, I have noticed a decline in the quality of customer service. I am waiting on my installation but am experiencing delays due to issues with my Homeowners Association (HOA). During this process, I have attempted to reschedule the installation multiple times. Despite calling several times, I have not been able to speak directly with the installation or scheduling team. Most of my calls are answered by an answering service, even during regular business hours. Unfortunately, I have not received any return calls from the installation or scheduling departments, which has been frustrating. I am increasingly concerned about the number of one-star reviews and the quality of customer service after the installation is completed. These reviews have made me question what my experience will be like in the future. On the occasions when I am able to speak with someone at the front desk or reception, she is always very pleasant and understanding. It seems she may be receiving a high volume of calls from customers who are also feeling frustrated. I hope to change my review to a more positive reflection in the future.

There should be a zero star! It would be a gross understatement to just state that BEI’s installation did not comply with Pinellas County code, the required permits were not obtained, required Inspections were not performed, that multiple aspects of BEI’s work were handled incorrectly, and as a result, my home and life has been catastrophically impacted. BEI sold me on this job even though they did not have the team or the know how to handle the job. BEI continues to market and advertise itself as a capable expert in this area for Generac installation on their website and commercial. Their crew had no experience handling Generac systems with knowledge of Generac installation standards, with an understanding of the counties permitting, installation or inspection requirements, or with the understanding of the safe proper methods of connecting the system to my home. There are so many failures here on the part of BEI that it’s hard to believe that they are able to continue to serve in our community and endanger the lives of others. All of the inspectors, electricians, contractors consultants, and county investigators uniformly agree on BEI’s failure on this job to comply with the simplest standards of care. BEl’s negligence has resulted in damages that will roughly exceed over $100,000 once this is all said and done to restore my home to its condition proceeding, BEI’s commencement of the work at issue. I have to engage another company to remove all of BEI‘s work and to install my Generac system on the other side of my home because it is not up to code. Even the placement of the propane tanks were misjudged and leaking propane, and also not strapped down properly or up to code. BEI’s mistakes cause my electrical panel to catch fire which in turn fried the electrical in most of the northern portion of my home, including my HVAC system, refrigerator/freezer, washer and dryer and other multiple appliances. The northern portion of my home has been virtually off-limits now for months and I have been dealing with this for almost a year. This has created an extremely dangerous and unsafe environment in my home. Among other issues, I continue to have sparking in the walls which has been confirmed by my electrical company when they recently did a full home inspection. I cannot utilize any of the outlets in these off-limits areas. It has affected my ability to live a normal life, still presents a danger to myself, my dog and my neighbors and has strapped me financially. I am unable to replace the damaged appliances until all of the electrical issues have been resolved as it will likely damage the new ones. However, in order to do that it will cost me over $15,000. BEI has been paid in full and almost a year later I sit in the middle of hurricane season with a big Generac system and large propane tanks precociously sitting on my lot that do not work, leak gas, cause electrical problems, and generally is making my life miserable. In addition once the remaining required electrical work is complete and everything is fixed and up to code I will have to engage a contractor to fix the drywall ceilings, backsplash, tile, paint, etc. since these items will have to be impacted to undertake the necessary electrical and other repairs. I have been eating out for months because I do not have the ability to cook or keep groceries in a normal fridge. I am currently living out of a mini fridge on my back porch. I have lost the ability to use my home in the manner in which an ordinary person would for much of the last year. I’ve had to spend money to reside elsewhere at times handle laundry outside of my home, I’ve had to board my dog when my HVAC would go down and the list goes on. If you are wise you will run run run from this company and avoid them at all costs. To conclude, after BEI altered my electrical panel to accommodate their installation of the Generac, they left a floating neutral bar which means my home was not grounded for over six months and that’s what caused all of the problems.

Absolutely atrocious!!! They installed the generator and we had problems with the a/c. They said, call an a/c person to fix it. They left Many, many calls to Bo’s , plus our electric being destroyed by their install, we ended up spending another $4,000 to correct THEIR faulty installation. We also had an underground GAS leak. Who in their right mind would use this company. Once you have the generator, they are gone. Reminds me of Best Home Services. Put the product in, then suck you dry for repairs. DO NOT PURCHASE A WHOLE HOUSE GENERATOR FROM BO’s. If you do, you will regret it. Responding to Bo’s: you are ridiculous. We have documented over 20 calls to your organization, pictures showing the nicked wire, digging of a trench to fix the electric. Kept wanting to speak with the (NEW OWNER), could never get their number. If you REALLY look, you will see someone came out to talk to us and then a repairman came out to fix the gas leak. We have documented proof. Contact me if you want this to be fixed. You won’t. You don’t care about your business. You should be run out of town. So don’t say, when the installers left allwas perfect. Everyone there heard the air conditioner. They just said “Not our problem. I have never seen anything like it.

I would give it no stars if I could. This has been two months of anxiety and sleepless nights. All I got was misinformation and little communication that was of use to me. My install of a whole house Generac generator was on July 24, 2025. When the job was finished, I was told to sign the paper and hand over the final payment. The next day I noticed my generator was only 3'3" from the top to the soffit of my home. The contract I signed, the installation manual, the county permit, the building code and fire code for charlotte County all state it must be 5" from the top to the soffit. I spoke with several different people from Bo's in the following week complaining about this problem. Some said they would pass on the information. I was told that the VIRTUAL INSPECTION had passed. I then called the county and they said they had received a passed inspection and had to accept that. On 08/25/2025, I was told by Kevin that it was put on a stand because I was in a flood plain telling me the road in front of my house and the drainage ditch behind my house made it a flood problem. I was unfamiliar with this concept, so I contacted the county flood division and was told I live in zone-X which is not a designated flood area and nothing around my home had to be elevated. On September 15, I again spoke with Kevin after sending him emails on 08/28/2025 and 09/01/2025 asking him to call me to resolve this problem. The office staff sent me emails letting me know that my emails had been sent to Kevin. When he called, he told me he had not received my emails, then looked for them and found them. He said he would handle this personally. He told me there would be another contract for me to sign saying Bo's would not be responsible if the generator had water damage from a flood. Three weeks later and nothing from him or Bo's Electric. At my own expense, I hired another company to remove the generator from the stand and I am furious that I needed to pay to do this. It is now on the pad where it belongs and 5"3" from the soffit where the code requires and I am no longer fearful of dying from CO poisoning. Customer service is very important to me and Bo's Electric failed in this area. Their purpose as listed on their website states "We believe every person has worth and deserves honesty, respect, and care." They also state "our team is ready to make the process simple and stress-free." THIS WAS NOT THE CASE FOR ME!!! Addendum: After posting my one-star review, Bo's reached out to me. Two more phone calls followed discussing the issue and they agreed to reimburse me for my out of pocket to have another company take the generator off of the two-foot stand. Two months of mental and physical suffering have ended. The check arrived and I have been made financially whole. Thank you, BO's you did the right thing.
