  This is not a big-box REI type store. This is a hobby shop. Completely dedicated to, and qualified to speak about- the hobby of paddling. Rafts, canoes, kayaks. Probably other forms of paddling i don't know about. Fishing*, whitewater, flat water, this is the midatlantic mecca for gear, and advice and no high pressure marketing. Gear, gear, and more gear, and none of it- NONE of it- is being pushed on you. The old ownership sold this store after decades, and it appears the new ownership is dedicated to keeping the same great environment the store has always provided. It is a PERFECT store. *this is NOT a tackle shop, though, it's a "fishing vessel" shop- to be clear. No flies, no jigs, no rods or reels.

  Purchase two new boats today. Got them for a great price, didn't have to haggle. Was given extremely fair prices on older kayaks that I traded in. This outfitter is under new ownership, I don't know as of when. But she is going to do a great job. Continue to support a local businesses.

  Used them to transport us 46 miles up the Susquehanna, very efficient outfit, their building is very close to the boat ramp so was a great place to park the trucks.

  We love Blue Mountain Outfitters! We've used them for float trips on the Susquehanna 6 times now. They are awesome and we highly recommend them!

  Blue Mountain outfitters is one of the best around. If they don’t have it, you don’t need it. Sarah and Jeff are both extremely knowledgeable,very polite, friendly and more than willing to help. They had an answer for every question which was a lot because I’m new to kayaking. Jeff was busting open brand new products out the box just to show me so that way I can get a good idea for the product that I’m interested in. I called originally about a recon 120 kayak. They said they didn’t have any in stock, but they order the one that I want. That it would be there in two weeks and I didn’t have to put any money down. Two weeks on the button, they called and said it was the ready for pick up. They didn’t try to sell me on anything I didn’t want and gave me every bit of information on the stuff I did want. They told me that because I bought a kayak from them they would give me 10% on all other products in the store. Sarah even helped me load the kayak on the truck. I’m from Baltimore Maryland. I would drive past every store from here to there just to get the blue Mountain outfitters.!
