Front desk staff was friendly and the hotel's in a decent location near a bunch of restaurants and shops down the road, but everything else was disappointing.
Parking lot outside the room was shut off due to construction, construction equipment sat right outside the rooms, ants up the wall to the nightstand (Google won't let me add a photo), floor flexed in places when stepped on, tub/shower combo leaked and was rusted at the bottom, bathroom door was installed wonky so it had to be forced shut, and the front door didn't seem to be sealed properly or it's a super cheap/thin door - we could hear every sound as if the door didn't exist. I can sleep through a lot, but we were up until about 2am because we could hear the nearby guests, the people outside the room, the traffic from the nearby street, etc. loud and clear at all times.
I powered through one night, but I wouldn't stay here again. I'd rather pay the extra $20 to stay at the nearby Hilton or somewhere a lot nicer for a tiny more. Not sure if the cheap construction and damage in the room was post-renovation or pre-renovation (some bits like shower tile looked brand new, some parts were clearly super old and just repainted), but the manager should review either way. That stuff either needs to be addressed during construction or added to the list of things to be renovated/fixed.
This property is nothing like the pictures. There was a flood and it was a disaster around the hotel. We were not informed. Breakfast Cafe was not open the first few days of our stay. Hot tub was not open. Tenis courts were also non playable. Rooms were decent was the only reason we stayed and didn't want to look for another hotel for a week.
The rooms flooded from rain. The breakfast was closed and no vouchers were offered. Furring the rain I sloped on the tile and fell on my back and broke a rib. I told the front desk manager and she said oh yeah I fall on the tile all the time. The parking lot flooded and several cars were flooded. Housekeeping was the only positive at this hotel

🚗💥 Car broke down → stuck in Yuma → forced into an unplanned overnight (actually two). Called the hotel, front desk said “Yes, we can squeeze you in!” …but forgot to mention the whole place was under renovation and half the property was taped off/painted. 🙄 Pet Peeve nailed.
Front desk = needs some serious customer service training.
🍳🥓 BUT… the breakfast crew (PJ’s) totally saved the stay. Claudia, Carolina, Gabi — absolute customer service forward staff. They’re not just putting out boiled eggs and old sad sausages. They're running a real kitchen, they’re fun, upbeat, and made mornings something to look forward to. 🙌
👀 Property manager / Best Western Corporate — you should be taking notes. Have the kitchen crew teach hospitality 101 to the front desk. Trust me, it would be an upgrade.
⭐ Final word: hopefully no more overnights in Yuma… but if there are, I’ll happily stay again just for breakfast at PJ’s.
