My wife and I stayed here on our last night in Nova Scotia instead of driving all the way to the airport area from Capy Breton. The hotel is a standard BW fair and the room was not exceptional, but fine for what we needed. It was clean and spacious. Surprisingly, there was no in-room coffee service. 😞There was coffee available in the lobby in the morning, so not the end of the world. Staff were friendly and helpful.
We had dinner and buffet breakfast (included) in the attached restaurant. The food wasn't exceptional, but okay. We had planned to eat dinner elsewhere, but it was pouring rain, so we chickened out. Service staff were friendly. If you want eggs, avoid the scrambled powdered offerings (tasteless) and head to the omelet/egg bar - much better.
If we were ever in the area again, I may consider looking for other options.
We stayed here twice, on our way in and out of Nova Scotia. Very convenient location close to highway. Nice lobby. Super friendly check-in and we really appreciated the goodie bag for being a BW Rewards member.
Room is older but very clean. All white great quality bedding, actually this hotel had the nicest bedding and towels of any place we stayed over our 3 week trip. Room has a fridge and microwave. But the bathrooms, they are just sad. So tiny. Didn't love either of them. The first one had a moldy tub and sluggish shower drain, the second had a sluggish toilet. There's not much they can do with such a small space I know, but I think upgrading the showers and toilets would go a long way. Lovely la coupe toiletries. though, so there's that.
Shower was very slippery. Dollarama tiny curled up mat was dirty but better than slipping in the shower. It was 6 am when we took showers, otherwise I would have asked for another mat. Happily we always travel with disinfectant wipes so I was able to clean it.
Nice rain head shower. So much humidity after the shower that everything in the room was wet. I mean not only the bathroom, but the room itself, I should have opened the window before getting in the shower. (I did remember that the second time we stayed and it helped.) Oh that's another plus, windows that open!
When we were checking out the first time, I knew we'd be coming back in a few weeks and I asked if there were any rooms with bigger / new bathrooms. I was told all the bathrooms are the same.
Super quiet, didn't hear a sound all night.
Breakfast was excellent. The usual powdered scrambled eggs, of course. Juice, bagels, bread, muffins, a variety of cereals, a build your own oatmeal bowl with raisins, nuts and cranberries. Sausages, Cajun spice potatoes, cheese biscuits and an omelette station. There's a guy who makes you a fresh omelet (using actual eggs, not powdered eggs) with a variety of ingredients to choose from, it was delicious and the best breakfast of anywhere we stayed.
Great staff throughout, especially at breakfast.
Overall, apart from the bathrooms, I recommend this hotel and would probably stay again.
