We used to stay here in the 80’s/90’s and enjoyed it this time too. Highly recommend the lower level bar/restaurant. I had an experience with the on site ghost, although I had not known about its existence prior. Not scary, but interesting that the hotel has a book at the front desk outlining other reports over the years. All of the staff were great, room was good/clean.

For $250 I expect a hot tub, a hotel that’s not under construction, shampoo and conditioner, I was just saying I’m thankful the front desk was super nice comforting nice guy. I don’t think I would have any incentive to stay here again… I will say the breakfast was nice. I was also a little frustrated that I was asked for tips three separate times and even by email I get it but pay your employees so they don’t have to rely on tips and you don’t have to rely on the public.

Our reservations were made through AAA. When we arrived, we were told AAA should have contacted us to cancel our reservations due to a water break...no one contacted us. We were given a room for 1 night of the 2 that we had reserved ( we were relieved since we had driven a distance), but left roomless for a night. The hotel, itself, is beautifully situated on the lake.

The room was okay, with a nice lake view — especially beautiful at sunset. However, the windows were dirty with bugs. The bathroom very small. The breakfast had eggs, waffles, cereal, and toast, but fairly basic. We stayed three nights and didn’t receive any room service, even after talking to the front desk and putting the sign outside. For a rate of around $300 per night, that was very disappointing.

This hotel is going under construction after a major flooding from the middle third floor down to lobby. Walking in looked like a war zone with scaffolding/plastic tarps hanging everywhere and on the floor(for painting). The center areas of each floor had carpet ripped up leaving bare wood. We had a king size third floor room with views of the lake. The views were beautiful (especially at sunset). However, the windows were dirty with bugs/spider webs ( we had a small spider in our room-ugh!). The air conditioning unit blows very hard directly onto the bed and was very loud. There is a sleep mode which keeps the unit constantly on. The bathroom is small. There is a second sink outside the bathroom but there were no towel holders. The breakfast bar was good (eggs/waffles/cereal/toast/etc). There was no self laundry. The lakefront is within walking distance for a nice stroll or just hanging out by the water. Overall a descent place to stay but not worth the price (a discount should have been offered). We cut our stay short.
