I had a confirmed reservation at Best Western Sawmill Inn through Booking.com for Labor Day weekend. Check-in began at 3:00 PM, and by 3:24 PM I received a cancellation notice claiming “non-payment.” Through Booking.com, I had the benefit of “Pay at Property”. When I called, I was told the room had already been given away. We were literally on our way to check-in!
The front desk staff offered no assistance, no alternatives, and brushed me off as if this were a large town with plenty of other options—when in reality, Heber has very limited accommodations. I believe the hotel overbooked on a holiday weekend and then chose to cancel my reservation simply because I booked through a third-party site.
As a result, my group was left stranded with nowhere to stay despite planning ahead. We had to drive back to Phoenix. This kind of treatment is unacceptable and reflects poorly on the Best Western brand. Guests should not be penalized for using Booking.com, nor should a confirmed reservation be disregarded minutes after check-in time begins.
Travelers: be aware of how this property handles reservations.

Here comes a pour down on all the reviews coming.
I came in prepaid for three hours of charging my car.
Specifically told him customer service person I’m charging an hour for 2-3 days, is that fine? She personally said yes.
This guy continuously argues over and over about it’s a one time, this and that, and got mad because his electric system didn’t have the adequate charge for a Tesla.
Nonetheless, no chance in hell unless if you need to stay here in heber, you should stay away from renting a place here.
These guys have zero values or principles.
More negative reviews are coming I assure you.

Rooms were priced like a Best Western, but looked and felt more like a rundown Motel 6. The floors were dirty—we didn’t even feel comfortable walking around without shoes. The shower curtain was yellowed (clearly used to be white), and the whole place felt dank and dark. Worst of all, the owner tried to charge us a cleaning fee for a smoke smell that was already there when we arrived. We only stayed because we urgently needed a place.
The one upside was the complimentary breakfast—it was actually good, which was a small relief after an uncomfortable night. Still, I wouldn’t recommend this hotel.
