Now this is an old review of when I stayed at this hotel May 13, 2025
⭐⭐⭐ Avoid Until Construction Is Complete! Massive Disappointment.
Review for: Best Western Mission Bay Hotel
I chose the Best Western Mission Bay hoping for a peaceful coastal getaway, but what I got was a full-scale industrial soundtrack to my vacation. I am honestly furious that this hotel failed to provide ANY warning whatsoever on their official website that massive construction was underway. It feels deceptive and completely ruined the stay.
The noise was relentless and started at 7:00 AM every morning. They are doing active, heavy work right on the corner of Garnet Avenue, involving large construction crews. It wasn't just drilling; we had heavy trucks constantly hauling enormous amounts of material—loud planks of wood, heavy metal beams, and various other debris—in and out of the site all day long. My supposed relaxation time felt like I was sleeping inside a saw mill.
The sheer volume and chaos were embarrassing, especially since I was hosting a family member. To make matters worse, when I complained and asked to be moved to a quieter room, I was simply told they were "fully booked." This left us trapped in a noisy, chaotic environment with no relief.
Beyond the noise pollution, the property grounds felt unsafe and neglected. There were loose nuts and bolts on the ground, along with shards of wood and other construction fragments near the walkways—a complete safety hazard. Furthermore, the cleanliness in the room itself was subpar. We found mildew or mold in the corners of the bathroom and a persistent, damp, musty smell that the air conditioning couldn't fix.
You are paying for the location, but you are sleeping through construction. I give it three stars only because the check-in staff tried their best and the physical location is close to the bay, but until the noise and cleanliness issues are resolved, stay somewhere else.

Hotel itself is very clean. The pool is qell kept. The room are clean and comfortable. The onky drawback this time is the major street construction going on atbthe corner of Clairemont Drive and Denver Street. Once you figure out the alternative routes using the other side streets, then every else is great. Great location with easy access to interstate 5 and all beach activities.

This is cat fish at its finest. Those pictures where probably taken along time ago. The rooms smell really bad towels where dirty hair everywhere. Definetly not a family friendly hotel. Worst stay of my trip by far.
Pretty disappointed in this day one thing that I booked this day was because I thought that there was gonna be hot breakfast, but unfortunately there was not on the other hand if you like a cold boiled egg and a offbrand cinnamon bread and some cereal then this is the place for you . Another thing I didn’t appreciate is I booked a ADA room and also paid extra and when I got here and they gave me the room somebody else was already in the room when I walked in they didn’t accommodate me. They just put me in a regular room now my daughter can’t take a shower. So very unpleased with this, I don’t think I would really believe most other reviews
