If you need someone to get you to pick you up at the airport, DO NOT get this hotel too. We waited almost an hour to get picked up and after every phone call was told “it’ll be there in just a minute”. Do not recommend at all, uber would of been more efficient
One of the best best westerns I've been to. Ill definitely be back. The cleaning staff for the rooms go above and beyond. Our entire floor smelled Sooooo good.. One downside is parking. Its not mentioned anywhere, but if you have a pickup truck leveled, you have absolutely no parking,and/or risk a $300 dollar ticket for parking in a fire lane. I lost sleep due to this issue. The upside is their is a rooftop area to see the plains from Pearson come and go.. it was crazy!! The parking issue really wasn't good at all.
I have stayed here multiple times this year and this time was a horrible experience. I had to switch rooms the first one was extremely hot and even after they sent a maintenance guy to fix it. He made the situation worse and the room was getting even hotter. The second room really wasn’t any better. They also charged my credit card without authorization which is ridiculous. Long story short i will not be staying here ever again.
Room was clean and comfortable and front desk staff pleasant. The issue is the restaurant. Poor Raeanna was on her own on a Sunday morning for the breakfast shift. And only 1 cook. This exceedingly pleasant young woman was taking a lot of abuse from customers because she was so slow. It would not have been humanly possible for her to go any faster. At one point she had 13 tables at the same time. The cook was overwhelmed. It took 45 minutes to get a simple omelette. Raeanna was unfailingly pleasant and apologized to every table. Some were very abusive. This is not only not setting her up for success, it was actively setting her up for failure. Do better, Best Western management. If I had a service job in Toronto, I would immediately hire this amazing and positive young woman.
Additionally, there is some kind of LOUD church event on Sunday morning at 10 am. While that’s not usually a bad time for noise, you’re an airport hotel - you’ve got to expect there will be some extremely jet lagged customers. I was jolted out of a deep sleep by the noise.
But it’s the restaurant that killed it for me as described. You simply do NOT put your staff in a position like that. I have instructed all of my staff never to use this hotel. We fly through Toronto from Calgary a lot on our way to international clients. There are plenty of airport hotels and we will never use this one again. Do better, Best Western Management. Live up to the plaque hanging in your lobby (pictured).
Stayed at the hotel on the weekend of Sept 12 to Sept 14, renting 2 rooms.
The location was easy to find, the rooms were comfortable and the facilities were clean and maintained.
Overall I was happy with the visit... that is until I checked out.
I was originally advised that the 200 deposit for each room will be returned onto my credit card within 5 business days.
Day 2 comes around and one room was refunded and charged for parking. Great, ahead of schedule.
Day 5 comes around and I still have a charge for one room, I called the hotel and was advised that I am too early and need to call back on Monday.
Day 7 comes around and the charge still hasn't been removed. I called my bank who informed me they received the request for just one room to be released laat week (which was correct) that the one in question has received no request from the hotel.
I then called the hotel and oh boy was it not pleasant in the slightest. If I had recorded the call, quality control from corporate would have been furious with how i was treated. First they tried to tell me I called too early, after I pointed out that I am simply going by their advisements they got upset and tried blaming my bank. Then they tried to tell me I got a refund already, again nope, I was on the screen of my bank during the call and was still charged for the second room.
Instead of listening and expressing empathy for the aggravated situation, all staff spoke over me, tried interrupting me multiple times and were all quite rude in their tone. I'm not trying to steal, or cause trouble, I am simply trying to get a deposit back that is rightfully mine.
5-6 staff members later and mulitple days has passed, and all I have to show for it is a charge for the deposit that is due in a couple weeks, and a promise for a callback for end of day. The assistant manager was in a huge hurry to cut my call off after making the promise.
At this point, I have spent enough time and effort, if Best Western doesn't follow through on their promise and policy, I will be escalating this further to corporate or small claims court.
Final review - A Member of management rose up thru the ashes of this mess and push a solution through. Very thoughtful and attentive to my concerns. Review stars adjusted
