We recently stayed at Best Western Oakhurst and, unfortunately, had a very unpleasant experience at the hotel restaurant. The staff were rude and dismissive during our visit. What made the situation worse was that we felt we were treated unfairly and with prejudice because we are Asian. This made us feel very uncomfortable and unwelcome.
We chose this hotel expecting professional and respectful service, but sadly our experience did not meet that standard. I hope the management will take this seriously and provide proper training to ensure that all guests are treated equally and with respect, regardless of their background.
DO NOT BOOK HERE. Walls are paper thin and you can hear all the footsteps above. My partner and I booked a 2 queen bed room online, but when we got here, we were shocked that the beds provided were actually full sized, each bed clearly does not fit 2 people. On top of that, they are not comfortable at all. The furniture in the room is outdated, lighting is inconsistent and unwelcoming. Carpet desperately needs replacing. Cleaning crew does not clean the bathroom properly as we found a sanitary pad wrapper in the corner of the bathroom. Also noticed that housekeeping keeps the doors wide open when they clean so bugs enter your room freely; this lead to us getting numerous mosquito bites. We ended up checking out 1 night early cause we just weren't getting any decent sleep.
Overall, do yourself a favor and avoid this place. Definitely not the ideal place you want to rest your head in after a day of hiking in Yosemite.

When weighing up the cost of booking a room at this hotel, I think across the board, what is offered is a fantastic value. Modern, well featured rooms, friendly staff, beautifully landscaped grounds, free breakfast & a great stopping point for trips up to Yosemite.

The appearance of the motel from the street is great; it stands out from the other motels in town. The young woman who checked us in answered all of our questions and prepared us for our week in Yosemite. The room is clean and comfortable. The restaurant attached to the motel has good food and is moderately priced.
The reason I only gave the motel only 3 stars was the WiFi. Speedtest reported 12.6 Mbps down and 4.8 Mbps up. This is so slow as to be useless; most modern websites will time out 10-20 times before they're mostly loaded. We come to national parks to experience the wonders of God's creation but uploading photos and videos to social media always timed out. It takes 10 minutes to watch a short reel most of that time spent waiting on more data to download; don't even try a YouTube video. No streaming TV shows or movies with this provider; if you want to stream movies in your room, download them to your tablet or laptop. I don't know about other people staying at this motel but I need a decent network connection. Verizon Internet Data wasn't much help either in this remote area; Bass Lake did have 5G but the people there drive Mercedes and Land Rovers. Go figure.
One other minor factor was the height of the toilet. It was almost like sitting on the floor. I guess some people like these "low toilets"; I am not one of them.
One last comment. There was a mosquito in our room. We couldn't find it but it found us. Multiple times.
