The first impression was not so good; There was no one at the front desk. The front desk person was in the bar area. When did get checked in she asked what brought us to Weatherford, I said “Homecoming.” She looked confused. “I said you know SWOSU’s homecoming!” (The college that’s been there since 1901) You’d think she’d have an idea of what’s happening around town.
She didn’t give us any details where our room was located, we asked for a room with a king size bed we got a room with double beds, front manager also didn’t tell us the WiFi password was on the back of the key holder, or that breakfast was made to order. We found this out because there was nothing to eat in the warmers the morning we left. And when we went to checkout there was no one again at the front desk so we just left the keys.

Super clean hotel and very up to date looking rooms. Lobby is beautiful with extremely nice bar area with TV’s. I was very impressed and I am hard to impress. I would have given 5 stars but took off one due to the breakfast. It was good, don’t get me wrong but we got to breakfast at 8:15 and it ends at 9am and they were out of bacon and out of gravy with only two biscuits left. They do make your eggs or omelet fresh for you and the lady did. They have a waffle and pancake maker and a yogurt maker which is a first. The coffee maker at breakfast was amazing. It gave coffee, latte, and expresso options. That was almost worth adding the 5 star. I would recommend 100% no doubt and is also worth the price. Also very safe feeling. Police dept is behind it.

I was originally put in a room that was obviously not cleaned. Then called them, they claimed to remember me staying in a room and that they were trying to put me in the room I had stayed in.( I have never been to Oklahoma before.) They did accommodate and change out the room after checking both rooms which was nice of them. I expect excellently when paying 160 a night. The beginning of my visit did not show what I’d expect.

During check in the two ladies at the desk were lovely! Then it went down hill a bit from there. The bed was comfortable however, the air conditioning was tucked in a corner and the furniture was too large for the room. The air kept cutting off because the tv areas furniture was so bulky it seemed to cut the flow of the air. Someone opening and closing the bulky furniture, woke me up around 5am when I didn’t need to wake up until 7. The pool was dirty and we couldn’t swim. The breakfast area didn’t serve eggs and only one juice was working and the pancake machine was out of service. It was a one night stay as we were passing through the town however the next night, we stopped and the hotel was just $10s more and have full service breakfast and a suite. So probably wouldn’t stay here again, the only reason I gave a 3 was the girls at the front desk. I would have gone with a 2.
Three Strikes. This hotel used to be a little gem. Unfortunately new ownership in the Fall of 2024 has transformed this place into an establishment we will no longer stay at. This was our third stay under the new ownership and probably 12 stays prior. First, we went to the front desk four times including check-in and only saw a sign saying “we are helping other guests” on three of those occasions. Though the young lady working was very polite. She did give us our preferred room which we always appreciate as we can back our SUV right up to the door. They were out of water (2nd time in the last 3 stays) and not recognized as an Elite BW member.
The fitness center is beautiful, but this time only dirty/used towels, no water and no cups. Someone, not sure if an employee or friend of an employee, hunted down a couple of towels for me. The Precor elliptical is great, but in need of maintenance as it makes very loud clunks.
The internet was only 14 Mbps which was a complaint from last January which made streaming not viable. The TV also was blurry which I complained about 10 months ago. Watching football was hard as the players’ numbers were not readable and the scores and times were only partially visible.
Breakfast used to be very nice. I assume in efforts to save money, you have to order eggs (only omelets available) and only a few donut holes and mini-bagels in the usual BW display. Juices were out of order. Pancakes were out of order. Other items readily available at our other BW stops were not available. Gladly the coffee machine worked.
We asked when the bar/restaurant would open and were told 5 pm. We went over at 6 and not open. We were told the employee did not show up. I thought part of the Best Western Plus designation was that you had to have an eating/drinking establishment.
Finally, this hotel’s parking lot used to be packed as was the breakfast and dinner hour. Not so anymore, so we must not be the only one’s who have noticed a huge change.
We have not left a Google review in the past as the new owner assured me these things (internet, TVs, and breakfast) would be addressed. That was nine months ago. Fortunately, our next stop at a BW in Moriarity NM was fantastic: huge room, great check-in experience, and nice breakfast. Oh, and we could watch both Direct TV clearly and stream our TV shows. No restaurant so no BW Plus designation, but a far better experience.
We will look at reviews from time to time to see if BW Weatherford shows improvement, but until then we will stay elsewhere.
