- PAPenny AmesOct 15, 20255.0This hotel stay was absolutely wonderful. My guy's family and himself are from the Waterloo area- a new great grandbaby arrived so we stayed here for 5 wonderful days. I don't remember names but two of the front desk ladys were absolutely wonderful-so kind and people friendly. Also the pretty young lady attending breakfast was fabulous and she was training another young lady who was just as wonderful. I'm a Best Western employee myself-have worked at the Best Western in Hornell New York for almost 27 years so I know what they're jobs entail. We plan on coming back out for two weeks next year and very much hoping to see all these wonderful employees again-they absolutely made our stay great.(We stayed October 6th thru October 10th of 2025)

I didnt sleep well because of industrial cooler on the backyard created permanent noise, tracks horns nearby, and garbage truck beeping at 5am. I woul recommend not to take lower floor backyard rooms at all. There is not a big choice of food for a breakfast. It was not a velue for a money choice.

I never got to see my room as they tried to charged an extra 100.00 before I checked in for incidentals. I had only budgeted for the price I put originally on my card, not an extra 100.00. Now would understand the incidental fees, if I had come with pets or kids but I am over 50 by myself and here for a funeral.

Sleep was difficult due to loud motorcycles going to the neighboring bars and very loud train traffic at all hours. Saturday night a bar put speakers out on the sidewalk and played very loud 'music' untill after 1 am. We walked to local restaurants, though finding a restaurant open on Sunday was challenging.
