Let me start with the good. The staff is exceptional. Each member was very responsive and helpful. The location is exceptional, a short walk over the pedestrian bridge and you are almost in Universal. Now, the bad. Our room was open and maintenance was working on it when we arrived. Their work was (somewhat) finished quickly and we were allowed into our room. The room looked clean but smelled like an old, sweaty gym sock. Yes it's Florida. I have been a Florida resident. I understand humidity...this was not from humidity. Alas, we were not going to make a fuss. Night one we had unexpected visitors. Roaches. As we ended the day, lights off, TV on, one crawled across our TV screen, then a second. What a sight as I drifted off. The next morning my wife saw a few in the bathroom and attempted to eradicate them. Day after day it was the same battle. We kept out baggage closed to try and prevent them returning home with us. The breakfast was good and most items were always in stock. Only the bananas were out a few days. Now, the site does say that they have a shuttle to the parks. Here is the fine print, yes they do have a shuttle. It runs once in the morning and once in the evening. If you miss it or want to sleep in, best bet is an uber/lyft. The shuttle only runs to Universal Studios, not epic, not any of the Disney parks, just Universal. Here is my bottom line for my readers, if you are ok with the things mentioned here, it is worth the mo ey/savings. For me, lesson learned and I will be sure to budget an extra $20 to $30 per day for a room at the Double Tree or Holiday Inn (Best Western is sandwiched between them).
