A friend and I drove 4 hours to get an RV I had purchased and it was not ready, so we checked into the Best Western on
6850 Greenleaf dr. Placerville Ca.
The young woman at the front desk efficiently got us 2 rooms (~ $400) and as it was halloween time, there was a bowl of candy on the counter, I am partial to Nerds and commented to the lady that i had a weakness for them, was told she did as well, and to help myself they had a lot of candy to put out. I took 2 treat sized boxes, about 1/4 oz or 7 grams each. A few minutes ago i wanted a few more ( vending machine is broken ) for sth sweet.
The young lady was off duty and now there was a middle eastern man.
He immediately got very upset when he saw me taking 2
each of the little boxes, told me to put all but one back and picked up the bowl, and stuck it in my face to show me the “ take one only” handmade sign.
At first I thought he was kidding- confront a customer over a few pennies worth of give away candy?
Seriously ?? I spent $400 for two rooms and hes worried about less than an ounce of Halloween candy??
He refused to answer when i repeatedly asked if he was the owner, but ill bet he was.
BEST Western?? NEVER again. Ive had better treatment at a “Motel 6!!”

My partner and I checked in for a single night. At around 8:30pm, another guest entered our locked room with a key given to them by the front desk. The other guest realized the room was occupied and left. They were clearly told that our assigned room was also assigned to them. Our key cards were then deactivated causing us to need new ones. When we talked to the front desk about the situation, they seemed disinterested and said that the night staff hadn't filed a report. Would not recommend!!!!
I was actually expecting a less desirable stay, a motel 6 type of room, but thats not at all what we got. Sure there was some construction going on, but it wasn't a deal breaker. What we got was a clean room, cold AC, wifi worked great, no weird carpet smell, plenty of free parking, towels were clean, full size and on the newer side. We didnt take advantage of any amenities, but loved that there was an ice machine available.
They were about 30 minutes late putting out the breakfast spread and normally that's not a big deal, but on this occasion the plan was to get an early breakfast and head out.
This experience actually led me to book a room at a different BW a couple days later, but it was sold out. Im a hilton honors member and typically book those hotels but Im now open to staying at BW based on my stay at this location.

Overpriced for the quality of hotel. The room stunk when we walked in. The beds are old and you could feel the springs. We got our sleeping bags because the comforter was a glorified sheet. Some sort of substance on 2 walls. Not happy with my experience. If we could get our money back we would of driven back to Folsom.
