Two star hotel with wonderful hot tub and sauna area
Jessica went above and beyond to serve the guest in line. Greeted everyone happily, swiftly resolved their questions or checking in, and never lost her smile. You have a real winner!

The rooms were clean and well-maintained. The staff was friendly and did everything to make our stay pleasant.
The best part of our stay was the quietness within the facility. On the first night, the BW was filled to capacity. It was quite full on the second night. On both evenings, we were amazed at the lack of noise!
If you can't rest well and relax at the BW New Ulm, you won't rest well anywhere.

I really wish I could have left a 5 star review, but they made it impossible for me. After the hotel's reply, I have updated the review from two to three stars. The property and experience deserved five stars, but unfortunately, the experience this time doesn't allow it. If I am back in the area, I will try to stay again, and hopefully will have a better experience.
I paid over $1,900 for three rooms (checked in Thursday the 26th, checked out Sunday the 28th). On Thursday night around 9 pm, the hotel was practically empty — yet instead of honoring my reservation, the staff scattered our rooms and gave us Room 172, a full-price room facing another room instead of the pool.
When I questioned it, the explanation was basically: “we’re holding those rooms for guests arriving on the 27th.” So even though I was already here and paid in full, they knowingly stuck me with worse rooms to save the better ones for people who hadn’t even checked in yet. That is not hospitality — that’s telling a paying guest they don’t matter.
To be fair, the complimentary breakfast was excellent, and the property looks better than when I stayed here in 2007. But those positives don’t change the fact that I felt was treated as second-class compared to guests who weren’t even on site.
At $1,900+, I expected better than being downgraded in an empty hotel so management could “save” rooms for someone else. Totally unacceptable.
Very clean and have good staff. The breakfast was good, understanding, it is a buffet. There was a wedding while we were there and in many cases a hotel can get noisy when this happens. This hotel was very quiet the whole time we were on the premises. And it is possible to walk to the Schells Brewery if you choose to do so.
