We stayed at Best Western Plus Lake Dallas Inn & Suites from October 26th to October 28th, and the condition of our room was absolutely unacceptable. The floors were so dirty that our feet turned black after stepping out of the shower. The bathroom had clear signs of a previous water leak from the floor above, with an unfinished patch job and visible mold throughout the shower enclosure. The shampoo, conditioner, and body wash dispensers were filthy and filled with mold underneath.
The toilet constantly bubbled, the ceiling fan over the bed was missing its light fixture enclosure leaving the bulbs exposed, and the AC unit had visible mold that caused immediate congestion when turned on. The section of the room with wood or LVP flooring was taped down with painter’s tape and covered in other guests’ hair and dirt. It was clear the room had not been properly cleaned or maintained in quite some time.
We arrived late on Sunday, attended a wedding all day Monday, and checked out early Tuesday morning, so we were unable to report the issues until checkout. When we mentioned the condition of the room to the front desk agent, he didn’t respond to our concerns at all and simply said “you’re all set.”
I have photos and videos of the room’s condition and will be sharing them as proof. I truly have no idea how this location maintains anything above a two-star rating. This was easily one of the worst hotel stays we’ve experienced, and I would not recommend this property to anyone until serious maintenance and cleaning improvements are made.

More Than Just a Hotel: Exceptional Support
We had to stay at this Best Western for an extended seven-week period after our house burned down. In a time of extreme stress and difficulty, the entire team was a beacon of support. Their service wasn't just great; they went above and beyond in every interaction. Everyone was professional, genuinely kind, and sweet. If you are looking for a hotel with truly exceptional staff, this is the place.
Pleased that my room didn't have carpet, seems to give the room a clean, crisp feeling
Our house was burt to the ground about a month ago, so we have been staying here since then. I would like to express my gratitude towards this hotel and it's entire staff for everything they have done for us. The rooms, breakfast, amenities, were great, but it's the Manager, around six other employees that operate the front desk, the cleaning and cooking staff that made our stay here (for lack of better words) well beyond a pleasant experience. Due to the stress of our unfortunate tragedy, my wife and I have probably not been the best of guests, but everyone here has done an amazing job dealing with and helping us everyday. Thank you all again for all you have done and do everyday.

I booked a stay at Best Western Lake Dallas and had to leave immediately after touring three different rooms. Each room had significant mold and water damage on ceilings and walls. Behind the receptionist’s desk, the AC vent was coated in black dust blowing out onto the wall—a clear sign of poor maintenance and potential air-quality hazards.
By the second room, I was already having visible symptoms: difficulty breathing, chest rash, sweating, and a tight, burning feeling on my skin. After inspecting a third mold-filled room, I told staff I could not stay for health reasons. Despite this, management refused to approve a full refund through Hotels.com.
The conditions are extremely poor and pose serious risks for anyone with asthma, allergies, or mold sensitivities. I strongly urge travelers to avoid this hotel entirely until the property is properly remediated.
