Stayed here for the High Point market. You get what pay for. For the price in this location, it was fine. I'd stay again if they fix the weird smell in the lobby. The good: For the price, the room was about what you'd expect. The room smelled clean. The beds were firm and comfortable enough, but there was hair all over one of the double beds. I don't think the fitted sheet was changed. It takes about 5 minutes for the water to get hot, but it does get there eventually. Other reviews mention roaches, but we never saw any, just a big spider in the bathroom. Super convenient location, right by the mall and within a 10 minute drive of anything you could want to eat and anywhere you could want to shop. The bad: the lobby smelled like someone vomited and they cleaned it with a dirty mop. The smell persisted all three days we were here and was so bad that I dreaded waiting for the elevator every time we had to leave the hotel - and the wait was long because there was one elevator serving a booked hotel. There was no way we were eating down there, so we didnt get to take advantage of the breakfast. No clue what is causing that smell, but I actually feel sorry for the front desk staff having to breathe it in all day.

Recommend that you do not stay here. Each day I found a cockroach in my room which were coming in through the cracks around the door. Only 1 elevator was in service. There is a homeless camp in the area just beside the hotel. I will not be returning.

Best Western – A Place to Avoid If you’re considering staying here, do yourself a favor and don’t. Upon arrival, the front desk attendant was indifferent—not friendly, not rude, just there. Later in the evening, a different employee took over, and she was outright rude. She acted as though we were inconveniencing her simply by asking a question, clearly annoyed that she had to look up from her phone. The lobby was unsettling. It was filled with random people just standing around, not speaking, not doing anything—just loitering. The smell in the lobby was overwhelming, like strong mold mixed with wet dog. That alone should have been enough to make us leave, but we were exhausted and decided to continue to our room. Big mistake. The room reeked of what can only be described as filthy cat litter. The carpet was stained, the bathroom floor looked like it hadn’t been cleaned in months, and the toilet appeared to have been “repaired” by a child. The ottoman and chair looked like they’d been chewed by a dog, and the bed was made as if by a blindfolded T-Rex. We actually considered leaving right then—but for some reason, we didn’t. We checked for bedbugs, found none, and reluctantly stayed the night. The next morning, there was no hot water. None. The water was ice cold, even with the knob turned all the way to hot. If you ever find yourself thinking, “It’s not that bad,” stop. Look around. It is that bad. This place was absolutely disgusting, and at no point did we feel safe. The employees should be ashamed of the condition of this property and their customer service. Avoid this hotel at all costs.

Let start with the good. * Location- It was right across from the hospital that I needed to be at. * Bed was comfortable. * Front desk person was pleasant. Now for the bad. The carpet wasn't fully vacuumed especially the section between the beds and over by the ac unit. Those area you could see stuff on the floor. A friend of .mine a few doors down booked a room and had to call for maintenance only to be told after 25 mins of waiting and 2 calls later that maintenance wasn't on site and they had to be paged. Bathroom was dated. Definitely needed some work. Peeling chalk and stains on walls and other things. Refrigerator door was extremely loud when opening and closing

UNSANITARY, HOSTILE, AND MANAGERIALLY DISHONEST. AVOID AT ALL COSTS. My stay at this property was a complete and documented failure on every level, spanning from severe health risks to staff misconduct, all topped by a General Manager who actively lied to our faces. I have photos and video evidence supporting every claim. 1. Active Management Deception and Gaslighting Upon checkout, General Manager "Pam" refused any reimbursement for the horrific stay, then attempted to cover up the issues with lies: * Staff Misconduct Cover-Up: Pam denied that the female employee who woke us at 1 AM even worked at the front desk or existed. * Lying About Noise: Pam claimed room 531 next door was empty and therefore quiet, despite the fact that I have video evidence of the extremely loud, disruptive noise coming from that very room late at night. * Blame-Shifting: She argued that we "should have reported the issues earlier," disregarding the fact that the staff's actions and the sewage smell occurred during the stay. 2. Severe Health and Safety Failures * Property-Wide Hazard: The entire main lobby/entrance area smelled strongly of sewage, a critical and unaddressed maintenance failure. * Unacceptable Hygiene: The room was unsanitary. We found dry gum stuck to the headboard trim, hair on the bedding, and the bathtub drain was lined with visible black mold and heavy grime. * Filth and Pests: Video evidence shows thick dust and dirt accumulation on furniture, and we observed a gnat in the room. Trash was also left sitting in the hallway. * Policy Violation: Despite being advertised as non-smoking, hotel management and staff were repeatedly observed smoking directly outside the main entrance. 3. Hostile Service and Misconduct * False Accusation and Threat: The most shocking event was a staff member waking us at 1:00 AM, falsely accusing us of screaming, and then threatening us with eviction if there were any further complaints. * Unresolved Noise: The staff failed to control the actual noise disturbances (children screaming, loud neighbors) that lasted late into the night. Conclusion: This is not a service issue; it is a serious failure of safety, hygiene, and management integrity. The General Manager's decision to deny, lie, and gaslight guests proves that this hotel has no intention of upholding its standards. The token compensation offered (10,000 points) is an insult to the documented health risks and distress caused. Travelers should avoid this hotel completely.
