    I know it's not a 5-star hotel, but as everyone being so nice, friendly, courteous and professional. It just didn't feel right to rate any less then 5 stars. I think they earned it. I would love to stay there in the summer bur its always full, what's that tell you. So, try end of season for the fall as we did and have a fantastic stay. Thank You

    The location is excellent. Great sunrise right from the balcony. The beach is wonderful and some of the bottom floor rooms walk right out to the beach. The mackinac bridge is right there. Sheplers ferry is nextdoor. The rooms need updating. The carpet was dirty. The bathroom is very small. The sink is weirdly far from the edge of the counter. I do like that the rooms open to the outside.

    I was skeptical of making a reservation blindly at a Best Western, bit was pleasantly surprised with this one. Breakfast buffet could have been better, but they have coupons at the front desk for restaurants if you wanted something more. Free is free.

    People who rated this hotel above 2 stars need to get out more. Maybe their standards would be higher. I suspected this was not going to be great place to stay when I was checking-in and there was another guest that had apparently just checked in and was back complaining about how dirty her room was and that it smelled. She went on to say that she wasn’t going to stay no matter what the front desk did or said to appease her. She left without a refund. When we got to our room it was very dark and you couldn’t see anything without flipping on some lights. All the fixtures looked like they were from the 1970’s. The worst part for me was that they were charging $200 a night for this dump. It wasn’t worth $100 per night. Look elsewhere for lodging.

    When arriving to my reservation, which was booked 4 months in advance, the wrong room was given. Staff stated that it came across from a 3 party expedia but I booked through booking.com. “General manager” was extremely rude and offered no solutions. I asked for someone higher and he stated no one was above him and he was the GM. Had he had a better attitude and explained it was a mistake, I would have been okay with the situation. I kept the room and continued with my 3 day stay. I checked in on a Friday. On Saturday afternoon when coming back to my room, I noticed there was BED BUGS. I removed the sheets and there was blood stains all over the sheets and pillows. There was a big and small on of the sheets. I let the staff know up front and they said they would call me. They call and stated that all they could do was change the sheets!!! I let them know this was unacceptable. I then went to front and demanded the manager in which I talked to the “General manager” again. He stated they could not change my room and no refund would be given because I booked “third party”. I let them know this was very unacceptable and I did not appreciate the rudeness, attitude and unwillingness to help. He said this was not a bed bug but a different kind. There were multiple stage bugs with blood stains on the sheets… The conversation did get heated in which the “General Manager” tried to come around the desk in an aggressive matter in which I defused very quickly with my own aggression. I have videos and pictures and have contact the local health departments and state consumer protection agency and BBB. DO NOT BOOK WITH THIS PLACE AND IF YOU DO, DO NOT BOOK THIRD PARTY AND IF THERES AN ISSUE, YOU WILL NOT GET ANY HELP.
