The good: Staff was friendly. Room was (initially) clean. Close to Six Flags, Cowboys Stadium, Rangers Stadium, etc. Breakfast was "okay."8
The bad: Waited over an hour past check-in for my room to be ready. Myriad other guests given their room first. Broken ADA handle in the tub upon check-in (fixed when reported). Room was NEVER refreshed during our stay. Never provided us with enough towels, unless we requested more. Would not willingly assist with simply holding a rented ADA scooter, until the rental company retrieved it. Very noisy property. The pool was ice cold, and had no towels without being requested. Room keys stopped working after one night. Poor communication amongst the staff, due to language barriers (e.g., Hindi and Spanish).
The ugly: We'll never stay here again, and would recommend others do the same until service is improved.
A Solid, Budget-Friendly Stay (But Bring Ear Plugs!)
Overall, this hotel offers a great value for the price, and I would choose to stay here again. It was nice, felt very clean, and had a pleasant, welcoming aroma in the common areas. The staff were consistently nice and friendly, which really enhanced our experience.
I stayed with my husband and our 7-month-old daughter, and she seemed comfortable throughout our visit. The hotel is generally quiet, but be aware it's located right next to a busy highway. We did find the highway noise made it a little difficult to sleep at times.
Room & Amenities
We had a room with one king bed and a pull-out sofa. The pull-out sofa could use an upgrade, but it was perfectly usable. The restroom was well-stocked with two sets of large, medium, and hand towels. They provide their own basic body wash, shampoo, and conditioner, which were decent—nothing luxurious, but they certainly got the job done.
Our main issue was with the A/C unit. It was an "all or nothing" situation: you were either warm or cold, with no comfortable in-between. We had to turn it off and on constantly throughout our stay to regulate the temperature.
Breakfast & "The Store"
The complimentary breakfast was just okay. They offer a standard selection of waffles, yogurt, cereal, juice, coffee, bagels, and bread. The hot items—the eggs and pale sausages—were watery and unappetizing. It's fine for a quick bite, but don't expect a gourmet start to your day.
A major negative was the ridiculously high prices in the hotel's little shop. Our last night, we paid $30 for two hot pockets, two drinks, chips, and cookies. That's corporate pricing at its worst. I highly recommend taking a short walk to the Shell gas station nearby, where you could easily get twice as much for under $30.
The Final Verdict
Ultimately, you get what you pay for, and this hotel is a solid choice in its price range. While you can't expect perfection (like a seamless A/C system or five-star breakfast) without paying a much higher rate, this hotel does a good job with the basics: comfort, cleanliness, and friendly service. If I had to choose between this hotel and another comparable option, I would choose this one.
