Style is comfy but lets be honest, its a super old style. Stepping in my room brings me back to early 2000, bonus point for nostalgia I guess
Staff is super friendly, breakfast is pretty good compared to other places, morning lady taking care of breakfast is wonderful
Location is close to other businesses and restaurants which is nice but its on a big boulevard no way you can go anywhere by foot and have a good experience.
Having a restaurant and bar onsite is pretty convenient and we see less and less hotels that have these for some reason. Its great you dont have to worry about how much you had to drink because your room is upstairs. Fun times
Very nice hotel. Great rooms and friendly staff. Really nice breakfast too! Would recommend stopping in here if you are in Cornwall.

Beautiful rooms very clean friendly staff but the food horrible 3 times we ate there we had supper chicken Marsala rubbery chicken plain potatoes when they were supposed to be garlic cold asparagus canned gravy , then lunch was chicken bacon wrap so very tiny no aioli sauce fries were just broken bits and burnt my husband was served a cup of soup then we decided to have an appetizer Brie it was stone cold in the middle , we always looked forward to the meals but obviously there is a new cook and the food is extremely bad so bad that on our overnight stay we decided to go out to another restaurant

A few weeks ago we hosted our wedding and reception here, which generally worked out fine. I did have some complaints about a lack of communication from staff, as well as a lack of presence of servers, but I brought the issues up with the event coordinator and believe they will be addressed internally.
The set up was mostly handled as requested, although communication issues did affect this. The tables did look nice, the venue was clean, and I believe everyone had a good time.
The food was very good, and I do recommend the restaurant here very much. However a lack of communication here left the entire party waiting far too long, and should it have been communicated how long it would have taken we could have encouraged our guests nibble the appetizer trays which were left largely untouched. We also could have moved the after meal plans to have more games to before the meals instead of not having those games at all.
I'm still not sure what happened to our cake, as instructions to keep it properly refrigerated were given multiple times, yet when the cheesecakes were brought out for serving they were soft as whipped cream. When the left overs were stored (presumably) immediately after serving they fell apart. I can't say that wasn't extremely disappointing.
Overall, our guests loved the evening and it was a beautiful night.

After a 9.5hr drive, with a golden retriever in tow, we called to book this hotel 2 hrs before arrival. Thankfully, we could get a room. Arrival at the front desk was welcoming, friendly (didnt catch names but 2 ladies were on duty at 5pm or so). We did have a couple of minor hiccup issues with first room, then changed room but lock needed servicing (nothing serious...literally par for course at any hotel, really). We were then very graciously assigned an upgraded room for the "trouble" (what trouble? LoL)!
The room was spotless, updated and ever so comfortable beds. *first hotel I've NOT woken repeatedly in the night*
Loved the older decor of bricks and beams and elements of its original days. Very warm feeling. A great vibe.
We kept doggy in crate so he didn't hop all over, but he sure enjoyed running with his ball in the fenced area out back. As a dog owner, that was awesome to have available 🙏
(*there is an inground outdoor pool here*).
Hops & Barley restaurant on main level (breakfast here was great, included), Winners pub downstairs (had dinner and drinks). Staff was fabulous, waitress was so patient as we gabbed with fellow travellers (didn't catch her name), "chicken charlie" was a good, friendly guy too! Loved having restaurant on site.
We will be making this hotel our stop spot from now on. You should too!!
