  My room was very clean and tidy, the bathroom was also clean. Front desk staff were especially kind and I overall enjoyed my stay here and would come back!

  While it has been a while since I have stayed at Best Western, I have always loved any and all of my Best Western experiences until my overnight stay at 8220 S Cicero this past 10/10/25-10/11/25. With the exception of the exemplary excellent service by Jeanette at the front desk in the evening upon arrival, first thing the next morning, and at check out; the excellence that I had come to know and love at Best Western no longer existed. I have always been pleased with Best Western site unseen. The standard has dropped. Cheap plastic toilet seats; pitiful shower power, terrible breakfast with stale and overcooked food, much less assortment of breakfast than described, food service staff not providing the full breakfast described during the full hours that breakfast was advertised to be available to the guests. I had planned an overnight getaway for a dear friend who had lost her life mate and husband of over 50 years. I chose 8220. A mistake that I will not make again at that or any other Best Western.   Nice and clean just need to supply more tiles and the shower head could come out more I had to stand close up to shower I don't like touching the walls when bathing Walls were a little thin but not that bad I guess

  We stayed here for a short getaway and it was worth the money, free parking, good breakfast and service ( Mrs Brenda). They entire staff was very helpful with suggestions regarding navigating the city. We will definitely stay again!

  In short: Sara was GREAT! Extremely accommodating despite our several requests. Free Parking was nice with a well lit lot, rooms were old and smoky, would not stay again or recommend. In long: Rooms were smoky smelling despite being marketed as non-smoking. It took moving to 4 rooms for us to find one that had a normal smell that didn’t give me a headache. The old carpet and sofas stank and are literally disgusting. 🤢 Need to be removed immediately. They were a sore to every one of my senses and I’m not a germaphobe (obv. considering my selection of a 2/3 star hotel). They put a huge damper and stain on the appearance of the room. It’s horrible. There was hair in 2/4 showers we checked and ultimately we knew it was a survival situation lol The AC was great, but the dirty old curtains completely covered it eclipsing the airflow. Bad bad bad. Always had to get up to push the curtains back Despite the hotel horror, the biggest MVP had to be Sara as she was so patient with us to help find a room that didn’t make us want to dry heave 😅. She was patient, empathetic, and extremely helpful. She even brought us sheets to cover the furniture! She also gave us a towel to clean out the dirty car we rented from Turo 🥹 Muchísimas gracias por su ayuda otra vez!!! Of course we will literally never return, but the staff was friendly, the elevators were quick, the lobby was welcoming, and thankfully the stay was just for the weekend lol Sidebar: It’s in a Latin/Hispanic neighborhood so if you’re not a fan of birria and super authentic Central American cuisine, it’s not the area for you. Doesn’t offer diverse options from other ethnic backgrounds.
