- TRTraveling Lady RailfanOct 13, 20254.0-> Worst thing: Toxic air <- ->Best thing: Outside room access, comfy bed, great breakfast <- We did not know that our room (107) had just had its bathtub/shower re-caulked (not with low odor/low VOC caulking) and the fumes burned my eyes and throat, caused a headache and nausea. The room really shouldn't have been rented out until the smell was completely gone. That having been said, check-in was friendly and we were given bottled water and packaged cookies for being Diamond members, I liked that we could just park right outside our room (external entrance). Internet was good speed (27 mbps download/18.5 mbps upload). The bedding was warm and thick with extra blankets/pillow in the closet. The room was clean and our stay was quiet. Just "it smells like someone was painting in here", as my partner said, before falling into bed (I would have requested a change of room but he'd already gotten into bed). Breakfast was included and was excellent. Clean, well-attended. Lots of seating. Options included hot items such as scrambled eggs, bacon and cubed potatoes. There were multiple bread-like options (as well as some dairy free and gluten free) and cereals. If it were not for the horribly fumey and stinky room (which will not be a problem in a few days) I'd say it was a 5/5 visit. The price in October 2025 was $184.96 CAD before taxes.
