The rooms are spacious, new decor, and very clean. It’s easily accessible from Hwys 1 and 395 , but very very quiet. The Freeport Cafe is on the property and serves scrumptious breakfasts. It’s a busy place. So you know it’s great. Buy a house specialty cinnamon roll for the road (or even better, eat it right away!)

This is the oddest hotel we have ever stayed in. The website does not mention that there are two separate buildings. We reserved a river-view king room which you have to drive to from the office because it is across the river. Then there is road construction right in front of the buildings (not the hotel's fault} so you have to drive further down the road turn around and come back up to the river-view building. This building is 3 stories and does NOT have an elevator, so if you have mobility issues you don't want to stay in this building. I do not know if the main building has an elevator or not. I feel the website should have made it very prominent there is no elevator. The website states there is a bar/lounge. Well, there isn't. There is a cafe that serves breakfast and lunch in the same parking lot as the main building. Also, this location does not provide a free continental breakfast like most BWs. The king room is spacious though and clean. The bed is comfortable. However, there was no blow dryer in our room. I stopped in the office in the morning and requested one be put in the room because I did not want to get charged for a missing hair dryer. We were out all day and when we came back housekeeping had been here but still no hair dryer. I tried using the phone in the room, but it must not be hooked up because no dial tone. I called from my cell phone and finally on the third call someone answered. The clerk stated he would have a dryer delivered to our room this evening or tomorrow. We will see if it arrives.
Update: The blow dryer never did arrive.
One other issue was how bright the room was with all of the lights turned off. Usually, such things are a result of bright lights outside. I'm this case, it was because of an entry light that did not shut off completely (a night light?) and the bright green light on the ceiling mounted smoke detector.
The hotel was in a great location, Freeport Maine is a nice town with plenty to do. The outside of the hotel looked nice however the room was dirty. Hairs all over the floors and baseboards. Side tables dirty. The worst part was the bathroom. Old moldy bathtub and the drain was clogged. Thankfully the linens and towels were fairly clean. This hotel has potential to be great, hopefully these problems can be resolved.

Not recommended. This did not live up the Best Western standards. This hotel needs renovation! Everything is very worn out including windows that leak noise badly. There was a lady bug invasion with them crawling all over. Bed not conformable, things falling apart, etc.

This was an extremely dirty hotel. The hallway carpet smelled moldy & had not been vacuumed for days. The room was the same. Hair all over the floor. Stained comforter, towels & chair. Some staff were quite nice, others just plain rude. Broken coffee maker, replaced by a filthy coffee maker. Microwave made so much noise, I’m am sure it was ready to die or implode. A huge disappointment for Best Western’s in general.
