Now this place… man, I’ve got mixed feelings. The staff, especially the poor girl working the front desk, was doing her absolute best. She told me she’d been there open to close every single day, and honestly you could see she was worn out but still managed to keep a great attitude, total respect for her. None of this is on the staff, they were trying.
The problem is the management or ownership needs to step it up. The second I walked in, I caught that mold smell, not just faint either. Later I found out one of the rooms had a leak that got left alone too long, and that’s where the smell was coming from. That kind of stuff really shouldn’t happen in a hotel chain like Best Western.
When we booked our room, we didn’t get any kind of discount or heads-up about the issue, and then we found out our shower didn’t even work. Big bummer. We had to switch rooms, which I figured was going to be a hassle, but thankfully it went smooth. Still though, having to move because the shower’s busted isn’t what you hope for after a long drive.
We skipped the breakfast the next morning, honestly, we were just passing through, and I was kind of relieved we didn’t have to stay another night. Between the mold issue and how obviously overworked the staff was, it’s just not a place I could’ve done multiple days at.
Nothing against the workers, they were kind and professional, but the place needs attention from the top. With a little care and maintenance, it could be decent again, but as it stands, I can’t really recommend it right now.
Good people working there, but the conditions and upkeep just aren’t it.
I stayed at this hotel while visiting family in the area, and overall, it was a good experience. Compared to other options nearby, it holds up well and provides a comfortable place to stay.
The staff were friendly and helpful, and the services offered met expectations. The room was clean and generally well-kept, which made the stay pleasant.
That said, there are some signs of wear and a lack of recent investment in the property. While it works for this area, the hotel might struggle to compete in a more competitive market with higher standards.
Still, for the purpose of my visit, it was a solid choice and I left satisfied with the experience
